The bad news: my beloved brown Tara Jarmon riding boots, which I bought in Paris four years ago and wore into the ground, have been retired. The good news: this means I get to hunt for new boots to replace them! Click onward to see the brown boots in varying heights, heel heights, and styles that I found, some as low as $30 friggin’ bucks. I ain’t lying.
Yes, of course you can get your skin tattooed, and even your nails — but what about your boots? Thanks to Frye’s new flagship store in downtown New York, yes, even your boots can get their own particular graphic vision fulfilled. Frye boots, shoes and sandals are some of our favorite footwear — because they have such a classic shape and style, and their leather goods last forever. Since they’re such great investment pieces, it’s nice to know that Frye is now offering its customers opportunity to customize via boot tattoos and hot stamping (which is basically like branding them like a cow). In fact, if you bring in a pair of your Frye’s to their Soho location, you can get your boots hot stamped for free! How’s that for a boot-i-ful deal? [Frye] Keep reading »
If these Prada Mary Jane boots creep you out too much to wear, you could always throw fishnets and a lampshade over them a la “A Christmas Story.” Something tells me that will be the fate of all the pairs of these $1,500 boots. [Racked] Keep reading »
Oprah said Bootights will revolutionize your closet, and we can’t agree more. This special legwear eliminates the need to wear socks over your tights because the sock is built right in. But no one will see your socks when you wear ankle, mid-calf, knee-high, or over-the-knee boots. Bootights are available in a variety of colors and textures, so your style doesn’t have to suffer. We’re happy not to suffer squished toes for warmth this winter.
When I first met my boyfriend he was wearing pristine white Adidas sneakers. I punched him in the shoulder and said, “Hey, what’s up with your shoes?” He asked me what I meant. “I’ve never seen shoes that clean,” I said. “I don’t trust people with shoes that clean.” He pointed at a tiny smear of dirt near the toe and said, “They’re not that clean.” I don’t really remember how or why we ended up getting together after this, but I can tell you that those suspiciously clean sneakers were a real stumbling block (to be fair, my propensity for punching strangers probably didn’t help). You know what would have been a preferable footwear choice? Boots — the dirtier the better. Here are my top five reasons why … Keep reading »
Footwear designer George Esquivel has released a collection of unisex hiking boots that have the function of a hiking boot, but also come in eye-catching saturated colors, like forest green and teal. These hiking boots also have a streamlined style that makes them appropriate for men and women. But would you wear the same hiking boots as your significant other? Do you even like these boots? Is it just us, or are Uggs experiencing some form of horrible mutation? After the original came the colors—pink, purple, and the like. Then there was Jimmy Choo‘s studded and fringed monstrosity. And now this: sparkly, sequined Ugg boots. People, stop the Uggsanity! [High Snobette] Keep reading »
Plaid + kitten heel + boot = incredibly cute? Or OTT? We’re feeling these Jun Takahashi boots … but think they look like a serious pain to walk in. [High Snobette] Keep reading »

This is the first ever remote-controlled, digital styling project using Twitter, a live video stream, and nothing else. It’s all going down at TakeOnTed.com. But we’re also going to post a video so you can watch it live on The Frisky. You can follow me, @GlamNiki, or @Ted_Baker to see the live styling instructions. And there’s even a chance to win a prize for those that watch the photo shoot at 3:20 p.m.
WIN THIS! We’re giving away one pair of Ted Baker London Faina boots, but you have to work if you want it. After the photo shoot, tell us in the comments which was your favorite look and why by 4:45 p.m. today, Nov. 5, 2010. We’ll pick our favorite response and announce the winner later today.
