My skin is perpetually dry and bumpy. My mom would blame it on my veganism, but I blame it on living in the northeast and dealing with stupid and unpredictable weather patterns. We’re probably both right! My skin is always kind of ashy, and also red and I get tons of ingrown hairs on my legs from shaving and just living. So thank God for this Boots Extracts Cocoa Butter Sugar Scrub. It manages to both exfoliate and smooth without irritating my skin at all. I get out of the shower after washing with this stuff and my arms and legs actually feel soft and beauty product commercial lovely. I’m not gonna lie — the softness fades after about half a day, and I go back to having rough, patchy knees again, but for those few hours, I’m in skincare heaven. [$9.99, Boots]

I was about to make a joke about how these boots look like something the designers created with little scraps of fabric and leather they found on the floor of the factory, and then I read the description and apparently that’s exactly how these boots were made. I’ve seen and worn some really ugly shoes in my lifetime, namely a pair of cheetah-print velour space boot-looking things. But I was 19 and am now blaming youth for that fashion blunder. Who or what will Miista blame for its hideous Mesh Toehold Boot? I’m not sure which offends me more, the toe strap or that these shoes are a poor representation of a hybrid shoe. In my opinion, the mesh is unnecessary and adds a cheesy quality to the “boot.” And let’s just be serious, this isn’t a boot! What’s even more shocking is that these shoes have received a rating of five stars from three reviewers. Maybe I’m the one who is crazy? Maybe on some fashion planet I have yet to visit the Miista Mesh Toehold Boot is hot?! What say you; do you like ‘em or not?
