The self-shot venison dinner, the cowboy boots for the bridesmaids, the wearing of her mom’s wedding dress, the fishing honeymoon—yes, we have been thoroughly obsessed with Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton’s sweet downhome wedding. But now a new detail has reeled me in even further. Apparently, Miranda and Blake were adamant about their dogs—chihuahua Cher, chihuahua-pug Delta, and terrier Delilah—being a big part of their nuptials. The three pups walked down the aisle with one of Miranda’s boot-clad bridesmaids. The doggies even got their own rhinestoned bandanas and collars for the occasion. “They were rock stars! Total rock stars, ” says Miranda’s publicist/wedding planner. “They were tiny little representatives, but they got a lot of laughs and attention. They were right in the big middle of everything … [Miranda] wanted a place where everybody would be comfortable, would have a great time, just feel at home and her dogs could be a part of it.”
This has me wondering—would you have your pets be a big part of your wedding? Keep reading »
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton got married last weekend, and I am still thoroughly obsessed with their wedding. Not only did Miranda shoot her own venison for the reception dinner and do her final shopping at WalMart, but apparently, she also wore her mom’s wedding dress. So sweet. And rather than take a tropical honeymoon, this down-home couple decided to have a little staycation at their house in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. According to Miranda’s Twitter, they fished a lot. “Honeymoon bliss!!!” is the way she captioned this photo. “Mrs Shelton here! Winning!!!!!” So adorable. [PopEater] Keep reading »
Country stars Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, who you can currently see on “The Voice,” are getting hitched this weekend. And their tweets about their wedding preparations are kind of refreshing. “I am so excited,” Miranda wrote on Wednesday. “Got nails touched up. One last wal mart (sic) run and I should be good!” Then yesterday, she posted the above photo of a package of deer cutlets. “Last thing loaded for the wedding!!! Harvested by …. me!!!!!” she said.
Blake was apparently very proud. Keep reading »
I”m not a “Dancing with the Stars” fan — D-list celebs learning how to tango? No thanks! — and find everything else on the boob tube Tuesday nights to be totally boring. Until now. Last night, “The Voice,” an “American Idol”-inspired singing competition, debuted, and against my better judgment, I tuned in. So glad I did! For starters, “The Voice” doesn’t bother to show any of the crappy auditions — contestants having already been whittled down to just the best. After all, judges Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee-Lo Green, and Blake Shelton are way too busy with their own successful careers to waste time listening to a bunch of talentless losers warble.

Pop song covers that become group projects have so much potential for failure and douche-itude. (See: Bret Michaels and Miley Cyrus duet, “Every Rose Has Is Thorn.”) But this “Crazy” cover by Cee-Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton on NBC’s new show, “The Voice,” is pretty damn hot. (But I’ll admit I’m biased, seeing as I believe Christina can do no wrong.) “Crazy” was Cee-Lo’s song originally, in case you didn’t know. NBC, put this on iTunes, please? “I told CBS, my advice for you is a three-second delay because you never know what’s going to come out of his mouth, and you might not want that on live TV. He’s so quick and so great at ad-libbing—probably too good.”
—Miranda Lambert gives a word of warning about her fiance, Blake Shelton, who co-hosted last night’s Academy of Country Music Awards along with Reba McEntire. Miranda ended up taking home the award for Best Female Vocalist. The other big winners of the night were Brad Paisley (Best Male Voclist), Lady Antebellum (Top Vocal Group, Album of the Year) and, duh, Taylor Swift (Entertainer of the Year). But Steven Tyler, Rihanna, Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon also made appearances, making the whole night seem just a touch less country than normal. [People, MTV] Keep reading »
