This is a joke, right? A lovely UCLA student — identified by The Daily What as poli-sci undergrad Alexandra Wallace — took to the Intertubes to bitch about Asians. (You know, because they’re a monolithic group.) According to Alexandra, UCLA accepts “hordes of Asians” every year — which is fine — who don’t have “American manners” when it comes to talking on the phone in the library. Entitlement! Obliviousness! Hedging her racist comments with “you guys know I’m not really politically correct”! This woman’s career in politics is golden.

After the jump, one of those gabby Asians responds to Alexandra with his own video about white girls in the library: Keep reading »

Why I Like Being Called A Slut In Bed

That's Dirty Talk?
Romantic dirty talk has no place in the bedroom. Read More »

I get called a “slut” all the time. My friend Ashley calls me a slut like it’s my name: “Slut!” The Frisky staff calls each other sluts when we divulge our sexual escapades. Internet commenting trolls call me a slut fairly regularly (and a “bitch”, and a c-word, and plenty of other foul things). I call myself a slut, like, say, last week when I hooked up with a dude on the first date. A lot of 20-something women are used to being called a slut in some area of their lives, in every situation from “haha, just kidding” with our friends or (cool) co-workers to more serious areas, like when it’s hurled at us by a catcaller. “Slut” is one of those female-centric words — like “bitch,” like “feminist” — that can mean so many things that it almost means nothing anymore. Except, it turns out, in bed. Keep reading »

Nicki Minaj On The Word “Bitch”

“When I am assertive, I’m a bitch. When a man is assertive, he’s a boss. He [is] bossed up. No negative connotation behind ‘bossed up.’ But lots of negative connotation behind being a bitch. Donald Trump can say, ‘You’re fired.’ Let Martha Stewart run her company the same way and be the same way. [People will say] ‘f**king old evil bitch!’ But Donald Trump, he gets to hang out with young bitches and have 50 different wives and just be cool. ‘Oh, Donald, we love you, Donald Trump!’ … When you’re a girl, you have to be everything. You have to be dope at what you do but you have to be super sweet and you have to be sexy and you have to be this, you have to be that, and you have to be nice. It’s like, ‘I can’t be all those things at once. I’m a human being.’”

Today’s Lady News: Joy Behar Told Sharron Angle To “Go To Hell, B-Word”

  • Nevada Republican Senate nominee Sharron Angle is one of the scariest politicians I know of. She believes a woman or girl who got pregnant via incest or rape should be forced to give birth — but Joy Behar should not have called her a “bitch” and said Angle is “going to hell.” “The View” aired Sharron Angle’s latest TV commercial, which some say portrays Latinos as a threat to white people. When it was done airing, Behar called Angle “a moron on top of being evil” and said she’s “going to hell, this bitch.” Point taken, Joy, but calling a female politician a bee-yotch? Not helpful. Oprah’s New Channel OWN Won’t Use The B-Word

In a major departure from her previous programming — some of the filthiest programs on television — Oprah has said no one on her new channel will be using the word “bitches.” I just hope the Oprah Winfrey Network cleans up their act and bans “hoes” and “sluts,” too, because you know those Oprah gals get mouths on them when they’re fired up! Maybe OWN could start a company-wide “swear jar” and be fined a quarter whenever someone says a naughty word. Then Oprah could collect all the money and buy herself something nice for once! Girl Talk: I Don’t Need To Be A Bitch

Recently, I put myself in a tangle that I will be the first to admit was stupid: I took someone’s bait when I just should have kept my head down and my mouth shut. And this chafed like a subcutaneous rash. Ugh … you did it again! You need to have more control over yourself!

I sat with this for a few days, wondering why I keep letting myself keep doing this. One of the things I admire about my boyfriend is when emotions are running high, he can just check out — deescalating a situation like a good police officer. Me? I take that bait. I escalate. And you know what? It wasn’t worth engaging in. The woman who was baiting me was just being a bully. She was trying to intimidate me and demarcate lines of power, which pissed me off. I’m not keen on authority that I don’t respect.

Then something brilliant occurred to me last night: I can’t control petty behavior and I can’t control what other people’s defense mechanisms are, but I can change the way I see situations like this. And the way I see it now is I don’t need to be a bitch to get what I want. Keep reading »
