Beyonce and Jay-Z are keeping pretty quiet about the gender of their baby — but Kelly Rowland isn’t!
She says the power couple is having a … girl!
Kelly accidentally let the news slip while dishing to Us Weekly about the difficulty of picking out the perfect present for the baby shower. Read more…
They have one of the most anticipated babies of the last, I dunno, decade on the way, and they’re the reigning King and Queen of hip-hop, so I don’t know why I’m so shocked that Jay-Z and Beyonce are going all out for their first kid. According to BET, Jigga and Bey are adding a 2,200 square foot baby nursery to their NYC apartment. To put that into perspective, that is over THREE TIMES the size of my whole apartment. That is larger than most homes, I would venture to guess. It is also an absurd amount of space for a baby. Keep reading »
Bey, we’re kind of disappointed. We tend to think you “run the world,” so when we saw this pic with Terry Richardson we were a bit dismayed. In case you didn’t know, Bey, Richardson is a noted model fondler and generally creepy dude, who thinks nothing of getting a bit too up close and personal with the girls he shoots. In fact, several models have spoken out against his unprofessional and lecherous behavior.
So, Bey, what gives? You’re pretty much the biggest star in the world, so I’m sure you wield enough power to tell Harper’s Bazaar – for whom Terry shot you — that you’d prefer to work with another photographer. Ah well, there’s always next time. [Fashionista]
First of all, does Beyonce release a new music video every week? Just last week, she debuted the video for “Countdown,” yet this week, she has a new video for the song “Love On Top” — what happened to building suspense? Anyway, Beyonce can’t do anything without paying homage to someone, and this video is no different. Her inspiration comes from a somewhat unlikely place — ’80s boy band New Edition, which was of course fronted by a wee Bobby Brown. “Love On Top” is directly inspired by their video for “If It Isn’t Love,” from the setting (a sun-lit loft space!) to the dance moves. Somewhere out there Whitney Houston is saying “Oh, hell to the no!”
I have been kind of bored by Lucky ever since they got a new Editor-in-Chief, but the November issue actually left me satisfied. There seemed to be more affordable clothes and accessories than usual, I enjoyed the feature on layering, and, HELL YES, Solange Knowles was featured as the month’s “Lucky Girl.” Solange, of course, is Beyonce’s younger sister — or as Dlisted calls her, “Basement Baby” — but ever since our girl Annika introduced me to her awesomeness, I have considered her to be the most stylish Knowles. Case in point: in the Lucky photo, Solange has done her braids up like Janet Jackson in “Poetic Justice,” a movie I loved back in the day (it also stars Tupac!) and am now going to Netflix immediately. Solange, lookin’ good, girl. [Lucky: Tumblr]
