Beyoncé Gets Down For Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” Campaign

Beyoncé‘s getting down in the cafeteria! B filmed this adorable “Move Your Body” music video for Michelle Obama‘s “Let’s Move!” campaign. I don’t think most principals would be thrilled if kids were doing these moves while they wait in line for tater tots, but at least it’s exercise, right? All these kids look totally thrilled be bustin’ a move alongside a superstar and she’s so funny in her bright green kneesocks! [Celebuzz] Keep reading »

Beyoncé’s New Single “Girls (Who Run The World)” Leaks Online

Beyoncé‘s back! Her new song, “Girls (Who Run The World),” leaked online yesterday. Catchy like “Single Ladies” it ain’t, but it’s girl power-iffic in a way that reminds me of her Destiny’s Child-era stuff. I think it’s meh, but I guess they all can’t be “Crazy In Love,” can they? Beyoncé In Blackface: What Do We Think?

Beyoncé in blackface? I never thought those three words would be in the same sentence. But yes, Ms. Bootylicious has darkened her light skin and thrown a scarf over her head for a L’Officiel Paris campaign. Is Beyoncé trying to make a statement that dark black skin is beautiful? Is Beyoncé trying to make a statement that wearing a headscarf is beautiful? Is Beyoncé simply trying to be “provocative,” whatever that means? Who knows. Personally, I always wonder why ad campaigns or photo shoots that go the blackface route don’t just hire darker-skinned black models (instead of, say, Caucasian model Lara Stone). It’s all well and good to say “black is beautiful,” but if you’re not actually putting money in dark-skinned black models’ pockets, what’s the point? I am, however, just a white girl from Connecticut, so I’d be curious what Frisky readers think of Beyoncé in blackface. [BuzzFeed] Keep reading »

Beyonce Tells Jay-Z A Sexy Secret

Whenever I see celebrity couples whispering to each other, I like to imagine they’re saying something really, really filthy. For example, the thing that popped into my head when I first glimpsed this photo of Beyonce whispering in hubby Jay-Z‘s ear at the NBA All-Star Game, was, ahem: “I’d like to slam dunk your balls, Jay. Into my mouth.” I am so immature. Keep reading »

Christian Ladies (Put A Purity Ring On It)

I gotta say, as a non-Christian who practices excessive amounts of pre-marital sex (well, at least before the sabbatical), I kinda like this pro-abstinence take on Beyonce’s “Single Ladies.” The lyrics don’t roll off the tongue as easily as in the original, but I gotta give props to these gals for using such a popular song to spread their message. I love a music video with a story line, especially one acted with such skill. Babe. [BuzzFeed] Keep reading »

Beyonce Maybe Suggests Jay-Z Was Her First

“People would be surprised as to the lack of experiences I’ve had. When I was 12, 13 I had my first boyfriend, and he was my boyfriend till I was 17. At that age, that was a long time. I’ve always been very loyal and a little more mature. Though I was too young for it to really be a boyfriend — we didn’t live together, we didn’t, you know … That was my only experience with a guy, and since then I’ve only had one other boyfriend in my life — Jay.”

Beyonce on her dating history in an alleged interview with an unnamed British magazine, according to MediaTakeout.com. If this interview/quote is legit, is Beyonce suggesting Jigga popped her cherry? Sure sounds like it’d be better than my first time. [MediaTakeout.com] Keep reading »

Gwyneth Paltrow To Perform with Chris Martin, And Maybe Jay-Z And Beyonce, On New Year’s Eve

Make it stop—I have an image in my head of Gwyneth Paltrow and hubby Chris Martin of Coldplay on a stage, doing a mash-up of “Viva La Vida” and “Eff You” for screaming fans. Rumor has it that the two will be performing together, on New Year’s Eve no less, at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The bash for 2,500 revelers supposedly cost more than $25 million, and Jay-Z is allegedly going to be performing with Beyoncé as well. Maybe the four of them could all get on stage and do an ode to ABBA? Just an idea. [NY Post] Keep reading »

Would You Wear: House Of Dereon Spring 2011 Shoes?

Photos of the spring 2011 shoe collection from Beyonce’s House of Dereon have hit the web. And I’m completely underwhelmed because all these styles look really familiar. Similar incarnations of that gladiator sandal, for instance, made their debut two summers ago and were extremely popular this past summer. And the black and white sandal and the white studded sandal look like shoes anyone could buy from Target or Payless. There isn’t anything wrong with shopping at Target and Payless, mind you, but isn’t Beyonce trying to establish House of Dereon as a brand ahead of the curve? That is the goal of most designers, isn’t it — to start the trends, not copy them? So, you know my opinion now, but would you wear shoes from the House of Dereon spring collection? Are Thanksgiving Specials The New Christmas Specials?

Celebrities have been doing Christmas specials for eons—from Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra and Donnie and Marie, to Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey and Mariah Carey. But this year, stars are clamoring to do Thanksgiving specials. First, Paul McCartney got one. Then Beyoncé announced one—it’s a 90-minute program full of footage from her latest tour, complete with appearances by Kanye West and Jay-Z. And now Taylor Swift has signed on for one, called “Speak Now,” which will feature her performing songs in her tour bus, Central Park, and many other locations. So which of these Thanksgiving specials will you be watching? [USA Today, NYMag.com]

Beyonce Ad Is Banned In The U.K.

Beyonce’s new perfume “Heat” is actually getting some serious heat from the British Advertising Standards Authority. Apparently, the commercial inspired 14 viewers to send in mail basically sayin’, “Mah baby saw Beyonce doing a sexy pants dance and now s/he is dry humpin’ walls too!” So, this ad can now only be aired in the U.K. after the child-proof hour of 7:30 p.m. Oddly enough, the ad has run here in the States for almost a year without a peep. Beyonce has got this country on lock down! Great Britain, not so much. Well, hopefully this means she’s going to cover 2 Live Crew’s “Banned In The U.S.A,” except make it U.K. That would be rad-unkulous! [Celeb Jihad via OMG Blog]
