Zach Galifianakis should get some kind of award for “Between Two Ferns,” because his ability to keep a straight face and stay in character while insulting A-listers is absolutely astonishing. During this episode, Zach had Brad Pitt on the show who he kept calling “Benjamin Buttons” and even asked how hard it is to keep a sun tan since he’s “living in his wife’s shadow.” On top of that, he asked how he felt when he first laid eyes on Angie and if it was anything like how Ross felt for Rachel on “Friends,” before proceeding to play the show’s theme song, making Brad as humanly uncomfortable as possible. Check it out, and I dare you not to laugh.
The funniest thing about Zach Galafianakis’ interview show “Between Two Ferns” is seeing how his various guests respond to and play along with his cantankerous demeanor and ridiculous questions. (Although, as he points out, he does have a reason for that chip on his shoulder: “Be short and fat and smell like Doritos and try making it in Hollywood.”) Well, President Barack Obama appeared on the newest episode posted to Funny or Die and the Commander-in-Chief handled Zach’s questions about being “the last Black president” and his birth certificate like a pro. He gave as good as he got too, getting in quite a few zingers at Zach’s expense. Are tense negotiations with other world leaders this awkwardly funny? I’m assuming so. [Funny Or Die] Keep reading »
If you’re at all sensitive to the plights of one unhinged Justin Bieber, get ready to feel uncomfortable! As for the rest of us, who have been waiting patiently in the wings for some seemingly responsible adult to call Biebs out on his bullshit … who better to step up to the plate than Zach Galifianakis? Galifianakis’s fantastically awkward talk show-format skit “Between Two Ferns” has played host to everyone from Tila Tequila to Jennifer Lawrence, but we can’t say we ever expected the badly-behaved singer to subject himself to the sometimes cringeworthy antics of Zach’s hot seat — or for his PR people to sign off on it.
Zach sets the tone for the interview with his first line: “It’s really exciting to talk to you, especially right in the middle of your public meltdown.” He proceeds to insult, chastise, and otherwise interrogate Bieber before standing up from his chair and whipping the 19-year-old with his belt. Of course, no Canadians were harmed in the making of this video — “Between Two Ferns” is a Funny or Die production, which means that Justin, like Zach, is acting. Keep that in mind! [via Gawker]
The esteemed celebrity talk show “Between Two Ferns,” hosted by my boyfriend Zach Galifianakis, has at long last returned from an agonizing nine-month hiatus (did Zach have a baby or something?). Better yet, it’s back with a special Oscars edition, featuring interviews with Academy Award nominees Jennifer Lawrence, Naomi Watts, Christoph Waltz, Anne Hathaway, and Amy Adams. Hathaway’s performance is groan-worthy, to say the very least, but if you’ve ever wanted to hear The Impossible Naomi Watts talk about diarrhea, now’s your chance! Also, I don’t know if it’s the pneumonia or what, but Jennifer Lawrence has, like, the sexiest voice of all time. I would like to borrow her vocal cords. Weird! Anyway, get ready to shudder with secondhand awkwardness! [Gawker]
Hooray! Another of episode of “Between Two Ferns” has hit the web. This time, the adorable and funny Zach Galifianakis interviews both Tila Tequila and Jennifer Aniston, but seems to have much better chemistry with the former. For the record, if I was forced to pick a state to annihilate with a nuclear weapon, I would choose Delaware. Sorry Joe Biden. [Funny Or Die

We love Zach Galifianakis
‘ hilarious “Between Two Ferns”
interview series. He always manages to make the interview subject and the audience feel supremely uncomfortable. In this interview with comic Gordon Keith, to promote Zach’s new film “It’s Kind of a Funny Story,” the tables are turned. Watch as Zach struggles to compare and contrast his film to “all the other films that have been made.” [BuzzFeed
