We’ve always had a thing for “Golden Girl” Betty White and her geriatric cheekiness. But, until now, we never had an appropriate way to express our love. Yeah, we could buy Betty’s sexy calendar, but that would just be tacked on our walls, and sorry, that just isn’t a public enough homage to Ms. White. Lucky for us, Betty herself has teamed up with Jerry Leigh to release a limited-edition line of tees and hoodies plastered with her glorious face. Part of the proceeds will go to one of White’s causes, the Morris Animal Foundation, because, let’s face it, the woman is a saint. [PR Newswire] Keep reading »
I have a feeling that we are getting close to the Betty White saturation point. Don’t get me wrong: Betty is awesome. I loved her playing beer pong with Jimmy Fallon, I loved her in that Snickers ad, and I loved her hosting “Saturday Night Live.” But I gotta admit that, while people seem to be enjoying it and it was already renewed for a second season this week, I’m only lukewarm on her TV Land sitcom, “Hot in Cleveland.” It just feels so … canned. And I’m kind of having the same reaction to this new Betty White pin-up calendar. The calendar is for 2011, and will cost ya $13 bucks. What do we think—is this a sign that the Betty backlash is about to begin? Keep reading »
As the Knicks, Nets, Bulls and others court (pun!) basketball star LeBron James, Betty White
and her co-stars in the show “Hot In Cleveland” want him to stay a Cavalier. If anyone can make him stay in Cleveland, Betty can. [EW

Betty White is blowing up … again. America’s favorite grandma has been in the biz for over 60 years and shows no signs of letting up. The premiere of her new show “Hot in Cleveland” on TV Land was the most watched show on cable last Wednesday night.
White recently sat down with Ron Babcock on the set of “Hot in Cleveland” to give him some advice on romancing older women. Watch it … Keep reading »
Betty White sex photos?! Sounds like hooey, but who knows what this kinky minx was up to in her younger days. According to the gossip blog ZackTaylor.ca, “industry insiders” have been contacted about purchasing four photographs of 88-year-old White and her late husband, Allen Ludden, a television host, allegedly engaged in “sexual activities.” That could mean anything from a chaste peck on the lips to … well … anything Tila Tequila would do. The photos were allegedly found in a box of memorabilia left behind at the Golden Girl’s old house.
Oh, Betty! We would expect this from that hussy Rue McClanahan but not from you. [ZackTaylor.ca, Showbiz Spy]

Sit down. I have something to tell you. Rue McClanahan died this morning after a massive stroke. She was 76. As Blanche Devereaux on “The Golden Girls,” Rue cracked us up as the resident man-eater and showed us how sexy shoulder pads and sequins could be. The character wasn’t so far off from her real-life persona. “People always ask me if I’m like Blanche,” Rue once said. “Well, Blanche was an oversexed, self-involved, man-crazy, vain Southern belle from Atlanta—and I’m not from Atlanta.” (For the record: she’s from Oklahoma.) By the time Rue started filming “The Golden Girls,” at age 51 in 1985, she had already had five husbands. She wrote about this in her memoir My First Five Husbands…and the Ones Who Got Away. “It was a quiet kind of desperation,” she said. “I always thought I had to have a man.” She married actor Morrow Wilson in 1997 and stayed with him until this year. Rue survived breast cancer, and had some health problems last January—while recovering from heart bypass surgery, she had a minor stroke—but had been on the mend.
We hope Rue is sitting in the great living room in the sky with Sophia (Estelle Getty, who died in 2008) and Dorothy (Bea Arthur, who died last year). We can’t believe that Betty White is now the only surviving “Golden Girl.” Thank you for being a friend, Rue! You’ll be missed. [E! Online] Keep reading »
