“Zoolander” Sequel Has Us Practicing Our Poses

Word is that a sequel to “Zoolander,” everyone’s favorite male model movie, is in the works. For those of you who are missing out on life haven’t seen the original, here’s the breakdown. Ben Stiller plays Derek Zoolander as he teams up with rival model Hansel (Owen Wilson) to take down an evil fashion designer (Will Ferrell), all while looking fabulous. And by “fabulous,” we mean gelled hair and the most ridiculous man clothes we’ve ever seen. Zoolander’s patented Blue Steel pose had us breathless the first time around, and we only hope it can keep us gasping this time. No word yet on when the movie will be out, but apparently Justin Theroux is going to Paris Fashion Week for “research” purposes, so we hope it’s soon! [Elle UK] Keep reading »

L’Chaim: Grover And Jake Gyllenhaal To Star In “Shalom Sesame”

Oy gevalt! How psyched are we that Jake Gyllenhaal, Christina Applegate, Ben Stiller, and Debra Messing are helping Grover out in a 12-part series called “Shalom Sesame,” a Jewish version of “Sesame Street.” The show will teach bubbelehs about Jewish culture, complete with a visit to Israel to check out important landmarks. The show has been done before in 1986 and 1990, with stars like Joan Rivers, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Mary Tyler Moore. The premiere of the new version will be circa Hanukkah 2010. I’ll totally be breaking out the Manischewitz, matzo, and macaroons for that one! Now let’s see if I can convert, marry a nice Jewish boy, and produce some half-Jewish babies in time for the launch! The Five Funniest Oscar Moments

The movie business holds the Academy Awards in such high regard it can make or break a distribution deal. Luckily, actors don’t (always) take themselves so seriously. Aside from the over-the-top gushing that came when past winners introduced the nominees for the acting awards, there were plenty of LOL moments from last night’s Oscars (not including the moment when the camera caught Angelina Jolie laughing at Jennifer Aniston['s joke], above). From Styx lyrics in speeches to Steve Martin’s ego mania, here are our five favorite funnies…

Monday Menage: Tropic Thunder

The tag line for the Vietnam War movie spoof Tropic Thunder is “Get Some.” That’s exactly what we want to do with the stars: stud Ben Stiller, juicy Jack Black, and dreamy Robert Downey Jr. It’s easy to see why it opened at number one at the box office. Even out of character, we’re sure this threesome would still make us giggle! To be fair, the whole of Tropic Thunder is raining men — the entire cast is male with bonus babes Matthew McConaughey, Tom Cruise, Steve Coogan, Brandon T. Jackson, and Monday Ménage alum Danny McBride. It’s a big screen flick filled with sweaty, beefy, funny dudes, slinging guns, and running around Hawaii in hot army duds. Clearly, our kind of movie. What Does It Mean To Be “Whipped”?

No, not literally, silly — like, in the sense where you’re a man and your lady has you wrapped around her little finger…or something? We ask because GQ has put together such a lovely slideshow of famous men who are, in their view, whipped by their wives (or husbands, in the case of Elton John and David Furnish). Included on the list are Guy Ritchie (Madonna got him into Kaballah and, maybe, strap-ons), Ashton Kutcher (he gushed about wife, Demi Moore, in interviews, the wimp), Ben Stiller (Christine Taylor always scores roles in his terrible movies), and John Edwards (Elizabeth defended him when Ann Coulter called him a f*ggot). Honestly, we don’t get it — is it that the men are very supportive of their wives’ endeavors? That they genuinely think they’re cool, talented, and funny? That they don’t get to make all the decisions? Or maybe it’s that they’re super smart, as is especially the case with Catherine Zeta-Jones, who arranged for a pre-nup before marrying Michael Douglas that ensured her $5 million dollars if he ever cheated.
