Yesterday, Zach Snyder, director of 2016′s hotly anticipated “Batman Vs. Superman,” revealed a brand new photo of Ben Affleck as The Dark Knight. Is it just me, or does Batfleck look a little rough, like he just woke up after a three-day bender in Vegas and discovered he depleted his bank accounts playing poker all night? Oh wait, that’s just Ben Affleck’s general vibe. [Hollywood Reporter]
Yes, you still have to wait until October 3 for “Gone Girl” to be in theaters. No, it isn’t going to get any easier after watching this new trailer that dropped today. SO. EXCITED. [YouTube]
The trailer for “Gone Girl,” the bestseller by Gillian Flynn, is finally here. The David Fincher-directed big screen adaptation stars Ben Affleck is sleazy Nick and Rosamund Pike is his wife, Amy, who has suddenly gone missing. Fingers crossed, the movie will be just as suspenseful as the must-read book.
My favorite Hollywood bromance is probably between Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, who’ve been besties since well before they both won the Best Screenplay Oscar for 1997′s “Good Will Hunting.” Fifteen years later, with two marriages and a gaggle of kids between them, these Boston bros are still close enough to shit talk each other publicly for a good cause. Ben and Matt, excuse me, Matt and Ben teamed up to raise money for two charities, the Eastern Congo Initiative and Water.org, with this funny video, proving the best friendships can handle a few low blows.
I can’t stop staring at the cover of this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly, featuring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike as their characters in the film adaptation of Gone Girl, the best-selling book by Gillian Flynn. Quite an evocative and macabre image if you ask me — but it perfectly captures the energy between this disturbingly compatible married couple. Cannot wait for this movie. [Entertainment Weekly]
Gone Girl was one of my favorite page-turners of the last few years, so I’m among the many excited that Gillian Flynn’s book is being adapted for the big screen. Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck are starring as trouble married couple Amy and Nick Dunne and the film is being directed by the incredible David Fincher. Yesterday, this first still was tweeted by 20th Century Fox, showing Affleck as Nick in front of a missing person’s poster with Pike as Amy on it. I’m a litttttle unsure about Affleck being right for this role — he’s just a better director than actor, let’s face it — but hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised. [Huffington Post]
She may be the daughter of two famous actors, but Violet Affleck is not too good for washing her own car windows. Here, her dad, Ben Affleck, shows her his own particular technique. Too cute! [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
Ben Affleck is going to star in the “Gone Girl” movie adaptation. OMG. Have you read “Gone Girl”? Have you? Read it now. I haven’t read a page-turner like “Gone Girl” in years. It’s so good. It’s so good. David Fincher is said to be directing the film with Reese Witherspoon producing it, so you know it will be incredible. Read more on College Candy…
Ben Affleck reportedly grew his stately beard as a good luck charm for the awards season, and while it didn’t secure him a Best Director nomination, it did get his movie an Oscar for Best Picture. All in all, not bad for a good luck beard, right? But now it seems Ben’s famous facial hair is no more: apparently Jennifer Garner brought clippers to an Oscars after party at a Hollywood restaurant, and, bolstered by tequila shots and cheered on by George Clooney, shaved it off in the hallway (a bit unsanitary, yes, but hell hath no fury like a woman who’s tired of her husband’s beard).
Ami was delighted to hear Ben’s beard is gone, while I’m in a bit of a mourning period myself. I thought it looked great, mostly because it made him more closely resemble Commander Riker from “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” and that is always a good thing.
