The SAG Awards don’t excite me all that much. As Amelia said in her round-up of the best dressed, it’s the most self-congratulatory of the awards shows, being that its entire premise is actors awarding actors. Hollywood is nothing if not self-congratulatory, and I love it despite that, but the SAG Awards just tend to be a snoozefest. I can’t remember how it happened, but one lucky day, I stumbled upon the chescalocs YouTube Channel, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Video blogger Franchesca, or Chescaleigh, as she’s known on Facebook, is extremely creative and hilarious. Is it just me or has Kristen Stewart been looking her best ever while doing the “Breaking Dawn” publicity circuit? She’s obviously very attractive, but some of her past appearances have made me cringe just because she looks so damn uncomfortable. Little known fact about me: I love makeup. Love. It. I love playing with the colors and the textures and different brushes and learning what products do what. I don’t wear makeup every single day, because I actually don’t especially care about how I look. But I still have baskets and drawers and makeup bags rivaling whatever frightshow Katy Perry’s got going on in her closet and it’s one of the joys of my life.

The Guardian is one of those smarty-pants papers that Americans mention reading when they want to sound intellectual; any video about lip gloss or false eyelashes on the Guardian‘s web site, I had to see.
