We’ve been huge fans of Elemis’ line of skincare products for awhile — especially their lime and ginger lotion, which gives you the effect of a tropical vacay when you can’t actually even afford to pay the rent. Elemis’ new Spa at Home collection gives you literally dozens of ways to relax at home. Their Quiet Mind Relaxing Bath Elixir can be dumped in the tub after a long day for a mellow, tension-releasing soak. Scented with patchouli and eucalyptus, it should do the job quick.
Recently, while perusing the dollar store with a wad of ones burning a hole in my pocket, my friend Matt found this bath thing. Uh, what exactly is a “New Century Sanitarian Thing”? Dollar store, you so craaaaazy! Keep reading »
I’m not much of a sweets person, not even when I’m PMSing. Savory is really my thing, especially when it comes to smell. The odor of sugar-coated nuts being roasted makes my stomach turn, but I could stick my nose over a pot of marinara sauce and inhale for hours. My preference for savory over sweet does not extend, however, to bath products. Luckily, if turkey isn’t your favorite white meat, the salts also come in “chicken, pork, and brown.” What the hell is brown?! [$4.95, Archie McPhee] Keep reading »
How do you wind down after a rough day? We asked for your best tip for relaxing in exchange for a set of Calgon bath products, and we, like you, enjoy baths, soothing music, and a glass (or two) of wine. But SEMI-girl‘s comment stole the show since her relaxation strategy is twofold:
“My relaxing evenings usually take one of two forms depending on whether my boyfriend is home. If I have the place to myself: bra comes off, sweats go on, plant myself in the center of the couch and moisturize/balm/cocoa butter every piece of exposed skin while either watching a movie I’ve seen a dozen times already or something wholesome and soothing like a PBS documentary. If my boyfriend is home: he makes dinner, I replace the usual domestic beer with a vodka martini, nookie.”
