I made a beeline for her, hugged the stuffing out of her, kissed her and repeated. In case you missed it, here is President Obama’s beautiful speech, delivered at last night’s vigil for those killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting on Friday, which took the lives of six educators and 20 6- and 7-year-old children. “Are we prepared to say that such violence visited on our children year after year is somehow the price of our freedom?” the President asks, in direct reference to our country’s need for stricter gun control laws. Amen, sir. And may those who were lost rest in peace.
In case you needed more proof that our president is awesome, check out this clip of Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock in the most recent round of “Star Trek” movies, describing the first time he met President Obama on the campaign trail. “He gave me the … Vulcan salute,” Quinto explains, “And I was like, ‘I really want to hang out with you so much more now. With apologies to Jackie O, I think Michelle Obama is the most stylish first lady this country has ever had, and her fashion choices just keep getting better.
