Dear Wedge Heels,
My whole life, I’ve wanted to be three things: “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” a writer, and the kind of person who wears high heels everyday. I’ve failed mightily on the first count, done pretty well on the second, and the third, well, that’s a bit more complicated… Keep reading »
Last spring, we told you about vending machines in UK clubs that sell ballet flats to slip onto tired feet after a night of dancing. Well, Rollasole shoes have crossed the pond, and while we haven’t seen dispensers at any bars in the states, you can plan for high heel pain by ordering a pair of these roll-up flats for $9.99 at Target.com. They’re probably not durable enough to wear every day, but it would be handy to pop them into your purse (they get super small!) before heading out on the town — they even come with a bag for carrying your uncomfortable heels home. Ballet flats better not go out of style during our lifetime. They’re comfortable and cute, a combination we rarely find in our closet, and our feet simply wouldn’t know what to do without them. We’ll slip on this Lela Rose for Payless pair, which features an origami-like bow, to make basic outfits less blah. Even though there’s a lot going on with the pattern and toe decoration, the neutral gray and white coloring means we can wear them on a regular basis, provided snow isn’t in the forecast. Iconic bag brand LeSportsac has a new way to carry you through the day—the company’s just branched out into footwear, and is launching a new collection next month. If you’ve been a LeSportsac lover since you were a kid, then you’ll definitely find something you like. There are flirty ballet flats that come in LeSportsac signature prints as well as punchy and metallic colors. Also in the mix are patterned rain boots decked out in floral or gingham motifs (with matching backpacks and purses!).
While most of the offerings stay on the side of cute, we do have to say that we’re all about those black glitter rain booties that are pretty edgy, and dare we say it … Darth-tastic? Check out some more images after the jump! [Nylon] Keep reading »
Jumping in puddles…what delight it brings to the inner child. Our shoes, however, are not quite so happy with our love for water sports. We could wear rain boots, but it’s been difficult finding a pair that don’t look downright silly in the summer or are cute enough to actually want to wear. In a somewhat ingenious move, Tory Burch has combined the lust with the must: the jelly ballet flat. Dancing in the rain has never looked so stylish. Oh yes, did we mention that the jelly flats are a fraction of the price of Tory’s classic flats? You may just find yourself praying for rain or wearing these shoes everyday you think you spot a cloud. [$95, Tory Burch] Keep reading »
Don’t start yelling at us for losing our style sense just yet. We know it’s hard to imagine a pair of Crocs that aren’t fugly, but lo and behold, we present you with a pair that is totes adorable. Someone over at that company got the hint that fashion conscious gals may have liked the comfort of the shoes, but didn’t dig the dowdy silhouette. The result: ballet flats so cute you would never think they were Crocs. Slip your feet into these comfy flats and marvel at how stylish your tootsies look and how happy they feel. At a bargain of 20 bucks and a color variety spanning the rainbow, you will be hard pressed to find a reason not to buy these. [$20, Crocs] Keep reading »
