If you, like myself, have been watching “Bachelor Pad” hoping that Holly Durst would see the light and take back sweet, sincere Michael Stagliano, give up now. It’s not going to happen. Word comes today that Holly is engaged to boring and slightly leery dentist Blake Julian, who she met on the show. Holly made the difficult choice to vote him off last week and sent him away with a note that read, “This isn’t the end for us.” Apparently she meant it.

It all started after the guy who I thought was my soulmate dumped me suddenly. I was devastated. Perhaps in an attempt to sooth my pain, my mother vowed to find me another guy, someone better.

Is no one on “Bachelor Pad” even the slightest bit authentic? I am feeling a bit naive at the moment for buying the sob story presented by Ella Nolan over the course of the show. Ever since the beginning of “Bachelor Pad,” we have been hearing her say why she ABSOLUTELY NEEDS to win the $250K grand prize so that she can give her 9-year-old son the best life possible. “I am a single mother … and I am struggling,” she said last episode, before bursting into tears because safety roses were given to Vienna and Kasey over her and Kirk. This, on top of her tragic childhood—her stepfather shot her mother on the street at point blank range in front of her—made her exceptionally sympathetic.
Which is why I was shocked to read this morning that Ella has pulled a half Heidi Montag. Yes, Ella has gone and gotten herself five plastic surgery procedures and has told the tale, and given photos, to Life & Style, as if this were something to be proud of. Keep reading »
Three day weekends are amazing. And also, a little disorienting. Last night, I went about my merry way thinking it was Sunday until about 11 p.m., when I remembered that it was actually Monday and “Bachelor Pad” was already in progress. I stayed up late to watch the whole thing and, boy, was I happy that I did. Finally, some movement on the Blake-Holly-Michael love triangle! And a little more action in the Michelle/Graham department!

On Monday’s episode of “Bachelor Pad,” Ames Brown melted our frozen hearts when, rather than continue in the quest for $250K without his new paramour Jackie Gordon, he waved goodbye to the cast and hopped in the limo to head home alongside her. “I think Jackie and I are falling in love,” he said in voiceovers as they cuddled in the limo. “This is the happiest limo ride in ‘Bachelor‘ history. We won ‘Bachelor Pad.’” I was hoping, hoping, hoping that the two were still together—and that we each have a fairy godmother and that there’s a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. But alas, it was not to be. Jackie and Ames have already broken up.

“Bachelor Pad” is quickly making Monday my favorite night of the week. With “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” I always end up asking myself, how does ABC drag this out to last two hours? But with “Bachelor Pad,” there is so much drama! All this is to say that last night’s episode was awesome. Parts had me crying with sympathy, others had me wanting to throw things at my TV, and the final moments were like a heating pad for my heart. We watched as season five “Bachelorette” contestant, David Good, got a second chance at love on “Bachelor Pad.” After all the pie-eating, backstabbing, and unitard-wearing was said and done, David walked away the big winner with $125,000 in his pocket and Natalie Getz on his arm. Not too shabby! Since then, David has been busy penning a book, The Man Code: A Woman’s Guide To Cracking The Tough Guy. As unlikely a messenger as he may seem, his book gives women a look under the hood, helping them crack the code to understanding “men’s men.”
