While America was shitting its collective pants yesterday, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall were Down Under snuggling cute baby animals. They appear to have wrapped up the marsupials in Hermes scarves, complete with eucalyptus leaves and interspecies affection. I never would have thought I would be jealous of Camilla, but that koala kiss is stupid cute! Also, Ami wants me to make a joke about how Camilla is really the Duchess of Koala-wall. If you think that joke is lame, it’s not my fault. You hear? I take zero responsibility for how bad that joke is. [Photo: Getty]
If you’re like, oh, the whole Frisky staff, you woke up this morning consumed with anxiety — nay, dread — over the potential turnout of tonight’s election. You know what you need? A good puppy video.
Well, it’s not good for the puppy. He can’t get that damn doorstop. Poor thing. [Glamour]
This tiny koala joey was found abandoned on the side of the road in Australia, and wasn’t expected to survive due to extreme dehydration and malnutrition. At first he was so sick he even refused to feed, but he finally latched on to a bottle of formula, and now his future is looking bright. These days the 3-month-old marsupial has a proper name–Raymond–and a busy schedule hanging out on his caretaker’s desk between feedings. Check out another RIDICULOUSLY cute picture of Raymond lounging on a laptop keyboard, after the jump… Keep reading »

Sometimes a hedgehog just wants to crawl into a chip bag and enjoy a snack in private, you know? But when a baby hedgehog in a British seaside town acted on his salty snack impulses, things took a harrowing turn: he became stuck in the chip bag. A shopkeeper nearby heard rustling and saw a tiny hedgehog nose emerge from the bag, but the animal was in a railed off area and couldn’t be reached. Prickles Hedgehog Rescue was called in to handle the delicate extraction, workers cut through the railings, and three and a half hours later, the little guy was saved from his plastic bag dungeon. The hungry, hungry hedgehog–now named Crispian, in honor of his penchant for crisps–was cold and dehydrated but is expected to make a full recovery. Godspeed Crispian, godspeed. [BBC News]
Have you ever seen an echidna puggle? Until earlier today, we didn’t even know something called an echidna puggle even existed. But then one of these little guys was orphaned and found on a dirt track near Australia’s Central Coast. Look at this cutie! Look at his little belly! He’s currently being hand-reared at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo, so he should be fine. But that belly! How precious!
Anyways! Whether you’re stuck in the path of Hurricane Sandy, or just stuck behind your desk today, it’s imperative you take a minute or two for a little belly break. We’ve got cats, dogs, puppies, lions and tigers and bears — oh my. Big bellies and little bellies — bellies that’ll make you go squee and wish you could rub them and squeeze them yourself. Click through to enjoy!
Got a case of the homebound-by-the-hurricane Mondays? Not anymore, you don’t! This adorable baby cheetah and his friends are here to cute up the joint as they come face-to-face with their jack-o-lantern nemesis.
Florida has outdone itself yet again. Kids swimming with baby alligators is not the most dangerous thing you can do at a birthday party. That would now be swimming in a pool with a Siberian tiger cub. Keep reading »
You’re having a case of the Mondays? Us too. Let’s not even talk about the viperous crapitude that is the MTA. Instead, let’s remedy our overall Monday sourness with a pic of this just-born baby Sumatran tiger cub. How rad is he? I could look into those baby blues all day.
Born at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington, this little guy is just five weeks old. [Zooborns]
Stop what you are doing right now and prepare to squeeeee your heart out. It’s time for a baby panda belly rub! The baby panda born in July at the San Diego Zoo had his third medical examination recently to ascertain the gender (it’s a boy!) and enjoy a good old belly rub.
