When we heard our friends at AskMen.com wrote a book on how to get women from the bar to the bedroom, we were convinced the “tips” were going to be wild ways to get a lady drunk. However, we found “The 11 Rules For Picking Up And Pleasuring Women” to be, well, kind of sweet. From “Express Yourself” to “Keep Her Satisfied,” the tips seemed more focused on connecting and mutual satisfaction than just an ego-fueled crotch conquest. Go figure! They should consider changing their name to AskGentlemen.com. Anyway, while those goals are inspirationally high falutin’, here are some quick, tangible, girl-approved ways a man can up his chances of wooing us from the bar to the bedroom.

This summer during the Beijing Olympics, we were mesmerized by American gymnast Nastia Liukin. She took home the gold medal in the individual all-around event, a team silver, a bronze in floor exercise, a silver on the uneven bars, and a silver in balance beam. With these winnings, Liukin is tied with Shannon Miller and Mary Lou Retton for the record as the American gymnast with the most medals won at a single Olympics.

Our brother from another mother, the venerable dude site AskMen.com, has some words of wisdom for their readers on the perks and perils of shacking up with your one-and-only. We thought the advice was so universal, we thought we’d share it with the broads who read The Frisky. Enjoy!

Women love movies. Dudes love movies too. Unfortunately, women and men don’t always love the same movies — that’s why we once vetoed a dude because he couldn’t see the cinematic power of Fear. When you’ve got a boyfriend or even when you’re just going on a date with someone new, going to the cinema necessitates negotiation. You want emotions and romance and hot guys, he wants explosions, and blood, and protruding limbs. You want Reese Witherspoon, he wants Bruce Willis. 27 Dresses sounds awesome, 28 Days Later not so much.

Now be honest, how many times have you been talked into seeing a movie that ends with an epic battle where the hero’s head comes flying off at the sharp edge of a masculine sword? Ask Men Survey Reveals Men Are Lonely, Depressed, & Into Euro Fashion

AskMen.com conducted a survey of their users, the results of which are THE MOST CONCLUSIVE FINDINGS ON THE HETEROSEXUAL MAN EVER RELEASED. Well, maybe not quite, but I did learn a couple things about the lesser other sex that surprised me.

  • They Are Liars About Drinking: According to the survey, the majority of men polled (35%) only consume one to three alcoholic drinks a week. Yeah. Right.
  • They Admire That Euro-Trash Look: A whopping 39% of men think that Italy has the best-dressed men. Maybe the medge will be popular after all….
  • They’re Cry Babies: Thirty-five percent have cried during a movie or TV show but managed to conceal it, while 31% think it’s perfectly acceptable to weep over the death of a loved one. Softies!
