I already know you’re going to do exactly what I’m doing, which is binge-watching “Arrested Development,” because the new season debuts on Netflix at midnight on Sunday(!). After three seasons, it’s no surprise that “Arrested Development” has racked up its own inside jokes.
From Ann (her?) to the Bluth family’s painfully-inaccurate chicken dances, these are the recurring gags that keep fans wanting more. And given just how popular they actually are, you can bet your sweet Cornballer that a few of these will show up in the upcoming season on Netflix.
To refresh your memory, here are 20 motifs any true “Arrested Development” fan should — and probably do — know. Read more on Celebuzz…
If you are like me, this past week has been filled with anticipation for the return of “Arrested Development” on Netflix. So why not actually feed your craving for the Bluth family? No, I don’t mean gnaw off Buster’s other hand like a seal. I mean head over to the Brooklyn restaurant Three Letters for ”Final Countdown: Arrested Development Tasting Menu,” featuring all of your favorites from show: tuna plates or platters, cornballs, club sauce, and yes, even a dish inspired by Lindsay’s hot ham water. Well, how adorable is this? In NYC promoting the May 26 return of “Arrested Development” — GAHHH — Jason Bateman and Will Arnett, aka Michael and Gob Bluth, grabbed some much deserved bonding time. Today in Things That Are Perfect: this “Arrested Development”/”Great Gatsby” mashup. With “Gatsby” out tomorrow (!!!!!!!!!!!!) and the new “AD” season set to hit Netflix on the 26th (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), the timing couldn’t be more appropriate. Hot damn, Ellen and Portia are a beautiful couple, aren’t they? My favorite thing about them is that every time they’re together, they both just light up–they wear their adoration for each other on their sleeve and I really admire that. OK, enough fangirl-ing about their relationship, let’s talk about their outfits! For the “Arrested Development” premiere red carpet (side note: OH MY GOD I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING), Ellen chose a sleek gray suit while Portia vamped it up in a tight black dress and a funky pompadour. They both look stylish, happy, and confident, which is the very essence of “Well Played.” [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
“There comes some pressure in your mid-30s, and you think, Am I going to have kids so I don’t miss out on something that other people really seem to love? Or is it that I really genuinely want to do this with my whole heart? I didn’t feel that my response was ‘yes’ to the latter. You have to really want to have kids, and neither of us did. So it’s just going to be me and Ellen and no babies — but we’re the best of friends and married life is blissful, it really is. I’ve never been happier than I am right now.”
–Portia de Rossi talks to Out Magazine about her decision not to become a mother. I like the distinction between not wanting to miss out and actually wanting to become a parent. I think it’s a smart one. I should probably start asking myself the same questions. Nah. I’ll put it off a while longer and think instead about the new season of “Arrested Development.” May 26th, baby. [DListed]
Che-chaw! Che-chaw! The fourth season of “Arrested Development” is almost upon us. And to commemorate how great the show’s first three seasons are, Josh Cox of Colossus of Clout Design created a bunch of faux-vintage record covers inspired by these faux “Homeland” LPs. Cox’s designs feature some of the show’s best plotlines and catchphrases. Because there’s “always money in the banana stand” but you’ve definitely got to watch your loose seals. At 4:41 this morning, Netflix sent out a tweet that stunned the world:
“We’ve made a huge mistake! There are actually 15 new episodes of Arrested Development on May 26.”
Are you freaking out right now? You should be freaking out right now. Because not only do we now have a release date for the new season, we also are apparently getting 5 bonus episodes (previous statements indicated there would only be 10 new episodes). All 15 episodes will drop at once, so make sure to load up on snacks beforehand and prepare yourself for an epic Memorial Day weekend Netflix binge. [Gawker]
