You guys. This is crazy. You remember LFO, right? Of course you do. They’re the ones who like girls that wear Abercrombie and Fitch, remember? Yeah, those guys. Well, ever since their star began to fade in 2001, it doesn’t look like they’ve been up to too much. Rich Cronin, the cute blonde one on the far left, sadly passed away in 2010. Devin, the guy who Jennifer Love Hewitt is pressing up against, is a barber now, I believe. So where does that leave Brad, the striking young man in the middle?
Oh, you know, he just hangs out at an abortion clinic, trying to convince women who go in to “choose life.” Then he talks about it on Twitter. Read more…
Ridiculously sensational headlines like “$1 Abortions in ObamaCare” and “ObamaCare: Home of the $1 Abortions” are what’s buzzing at the pro-life water cooler today. These headlines would have you believe that under the President’s health care reform, taxpayer funding will pay for abortions that cost just a buck. Keep reading »
Meet Georgia Representative Yasmin Neal. She’s fed up with the government trying to legislate women’s reproductive rights, so she just introduced a bill into the general assembly that would ban Georgia men from having vasectomies. Sounds pretty crazy, right? Well, it is, but that’s the point. Neal’s bill is meant to protest anti-abortion legislation that attempts to interfere with a woman’s reproductive health. As Neal explains (with a totally straight face), “It is patently unfair that men can avoid unwanted fatherhood by presuming that their judgment over such matters is more valid than the judgment of the General Assembly, while women’s ability to decide is constantly up for debate throughout the United States.” Keep reading »
UPDATE, 3:40: Governor McDonnell has released a statement regarding the bill, posted after the jump.
Virginia’s Republican Governor Robert McDonnell has come to his senses: he is dropping his support for a scary-ass bill requiring women seeking an abortion to first have a medically unnecessary “transvaginal ultrasound,” aka to be vaginally penetrated with a speculum and ultrasound probe. All abortions would be classified as feticides, a class A felony punishable by life imprisonment without chance for parole, under a new bill introduced on Wednesday by Iowa State Representative Kim Pearson, a Tea Party Republican. Pearson’s bill states:
Any person who intentionally terminates a human pregnancy, with the knowledge and consent of the pregnant person, where death of the fetus results, commits feticide. Feticide is a class A felony.
Under the bill, doctors who perform abortions could spend life in prison and doctors who attempt to perform an abortion (but don’t go through with it, for some unclear reason) would be charged with the class B felony of 25 years in prison. Keep reading »
Virginia politicians advanced two extreme and extremely disturbing anti-abortion bills yesterday — Valentine’s Day, for God’s sake! One is a so-called “fetal personhood” amendment, which would criminalize all abortions by declaring that a fertilized egg is a person.
The state’s Republican-controlled House of Delegates overwhelmingly passed the “fetal personhood” bill, which now heads to the state Senate. If the bill passes the state Senate and is signed into law by Republican Governor Bob McDonnell, it would be the most sweeping criminalization of abortion in the United States. Keep reading »
