For anyone who is remotely active on Facebook, you no doubt have been faced at some point with inane updates on one of your friend’s kid’s colds or how wedding-planning was coming along for one of your engaged friends. That’s why, when parenting website Babble published their list of “Facebook’s Five Most Annoying Parents,” I immediately thought, “But what about all the annoying couples?” So, without further ado, I present Facebook’s Five Most Annoying Couples, after the jump.

Several times over the past couple weeks, I’ve ridden the subway with a couple that kisses very loudly while they ride the train to work. I’ve had to stand next to them, inches away, while they “smack,” “smack,” “smack”-ed each other’s lips over and over again. They must have kissed 15 times in the time the train traveled one stop. This morning, I just about had it. I was so close to telling the kissing couple they were being inconsiderate and making others uncomfortable—I can even hear the sound of them kissing when I’m listening to my iPod. I held back, though I’m not sure I can much longer. From now on, I will be getting into a different car if I see them hopping on the subway with me. People in love can be really annoying to people that aren’t. But then there are some people in love that are annoying to everyone in the universe, even the most Hallmark-y, optimistic, happy-go-lucky teddy bears. Like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. While we obviously admire Katie’s fashion sense since she hooked up with the Mission Impossible actor, we think she’s become one of those “smug marrieds” that give other married ladies a bad name, namely because she’s become totally incapable of taking about anything else.
