Lady Gaga Is What’s For Dinner

Lady Gaga parades her way through the December issue of Vogue magazine in a bizarre reenactment of Hansel and Gretel costarring Lily Cole and Andrew Garfield that was shot by Annie Leibovitz. “I’ve always been an outspoken and extreme dresser,” Miss Gaga confesses. You don’t say? At one point, Vogue Creative Director Grace Coddington reveals, she-who-wears-no-pants showed up on set “stark naked except for her white rubber raincoat and some very, very high heels.” It’s only a matter of time, one supposes, before the Lady forsakes clothes altogether, no? The full “Lady Gaga Does Hansel and Gretel” images after the jump.

Louis Vuitton + Red Cross = ?

For the Red Cross’s 150th Anniversary, Louis Vuitton and friends are joining forces to really celebrate in style. Photog Annie Liebovitz and artist Damien Hirst have each designed Louis Vuitton pieces for the collection to be auctioned off at Sotheby’s on November 17. Even Marc Jacobs got in on the action with a travel trunk for his dogs. Not only should this make you want to fly around the world, but it makes everyone else want to see you doing it. (Hey, a girl can dream, right?) After the jump, check out these soon-to-be auctioned items.

Sean Lennon Recreates Parents’ Legendary Photo

Sean Lennon And Kemp Muhl Naked

In late 1980, hours before he was shot and killed, John Lennon posed with wife Yoko Ono for legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz. Lennon was naked and curled around his wife. After the Beatles star died, the image became an iconic Rolling Stone cover. Now, nearly 30 years later, their son, Sean Lennon, and his model-girlfriend Kemp Muhl recreated the infamous shot with provocative photographer Terry Richardson for the fall issue of Purple magazine. This time, Sean lies fully clothed as a nude Muhl spoons him. What do you think: beautiful homage or twisted facsimile? [Flavorwire]

Annie Leibovitz Gets Sued

Annie Leibovitz

Last summer, photography mastermind Annie Leibovitz was strapped for cash, so she took out a $24 million loan from a finance company called Art Capital Group. Supposedly, for collateral on the loan, she used all her photos and her homes Manhattan and Upstate New York. Well, Art Capital Group is claiming that Annie is in breach of contract, and filed a lawsuit this week demanding that Annie let appraisers into her homes so they can estimate the value and start selling everything off. Meanwhile, Annie says this is BS. [NY Times]

So can this company really sell all her photos? That seems kind of wrong. You shoot gorgeous Vanity Fair covers, and you get no respect.

The Daily Hotness: Daniel Radcliffe

Daniel Radcliffe Naked

Harry Potter isn’t afraid to put it all out there. Daniel Radcliffe, who starred as the magical teen titan Harry Potter, earlier this week admitted he has neurological disorder, dyspraxia, which affects his coordination.  But he can still cast a spell on you!  Just check out his pony play spread in the September issue of Vogue.  He’s riding horses and they’re all bareback—giddy up! Although the weird fetal/grandpa shot creeps us out, we’ll blame it (like the Miley Cyrus photo controversy) on famous photographer Annie Leibovitz.  Sure, he says he stripped down to promote the new Broadway play he’s horsing around in—Equus—but we’ll take any excuse to see this barely legal babe in the buff! Sofia Coppola: Daddy’s Girl

Sofia and Francis Ford Coppola's ad for Louis Vuitton

The mark of a good dad is his kids, and when you’re Francis Ford Coppola, director of The Godfather trilogy, Apocalypse Now, and our personal favorite, the Michael Jackson Disney World 3D experience, Captain EO, you’ve already set the bar pretty darn high for your children. But if there’s a woman awesome enough to fill her father’s film-making shoes it’s Sofia Coppola.  With The Virgin Suicides, Lost In Translation, and Marie Antoinette to her credit, she is undoubtedly making him proud.  The two recently posed together for Annie Leibovitz (the photog responsible for ruining Miley Cyrus’ career), who shot their ad for Louis Vuitton Journeys.  Sure, it’s made to sell handbags, but it also shows just how supportive and loving their father/daughter relationship really is. The Coppola’s are the cutest! [Trend Hunter]

Even “Real” Women Are Digitally Enhanced

Dove campaign for real beauty

Just like every other impressionable tween, I saw models in magazines and felt a little bad about myself because my body didn’t look like theirs. I’m a smart girl, but it didn’t really set in that these were not their bodies (or faces, even) until I worked at a magazine and saw how photos were tweaked—who wants to look at pages of ugly people? On Newsweek.com, a writer takes part in a photo shoot, then goes through the lengthy retouching process, demonstrating how much work it actually takes to make someone look “flawless”.

Donny Osmond, Former Child Star, Considers Miley Cyrus’ Career

Miley Cyrus performing as Hannah Montana

Amid Vanity Fair-gate, Time published Donny Osmond’s thoughts on Miley Cyrus’ career:

Show business is about idolization. As an idol to tweens the world over, singer-actress Miley Cyrus, 15, is riding a huge tidal wave at the pinnacle of her career; this is as it should be. I hope she enjoys it. I guarantee there will be many bumps in the road ahead. One of them, especially for somebody who acts and sings on her own TV show, is that your image becomes cryogenically frozen into a specific stereotype…..Her challenge will be overcoming the Hannah Montana stereotype. Miley’s fans are not thinking about the fact that she will grow up too. As she does, she’ll want to change her image, and that change will be met with adversity.

The Colbert Report Weighs In On The Miley Cyrus “Scandal”

Maybe the real lesson learned from all of this isn’t that Miley Cyrus is a lil’ trampy for 15, or that her parents were remiss, or that Disney needs to chill the hell out. Maybe it’s that Annie Leibovitz is played out. [Comedy Central: The Colbert Report]

Hot Topic: Miley Cyrus In Vanity Fair

Miley Cyrus/NY Post

Alright guys, what do you think of this whole Miley Cyrus/Vanity Fair/Annie Leibovitz debacle? To refresh: Leibovitz shot the pop star for the magazine draped only in a sheet, very little makeup, and tossled hair. No matter which way you cut it, the photo certainly is provocative. It’s also beautiful, but really, wouldn’t expect anything less from a photographer of Leibovitz’s caliber. All that said, Cyrus is 15-years old. Regardless of whether her minders or grandmother or parents were at the shoot, isn’t it kind of…odd…for a magazine or a photographer to suggest sexy look in the first place?
