Alexander Skarsgaard Talks About His “True Blood” Snowy Sex Scene

“I loved it. It was so beautiful, they tried to recreate a winter landscape up in northern Sweden, and they did an amazing job. It was really special. It was a lot of fun shooting — and quite complicated with wind machines going and fake snow everywhere. It was very technical and kinda tough, but it really was very special. They spent weeks building it, and we spent a day or two shooting it. I’m excited to see it because being there on the day it looked so good. I hope fans like it.”

What Beautiful “Imperfections” Set You Apart?

Every time I see a photo of Anna Paquin (which, due to the massive popularity of “True Blood,” happens about every 30 seconds), I am thankful for that gap in her teeth. She is a conventionally beautiful woman, yes, but that little “imperfection” sets her apart from the sea of similar faces gracing magazine covers today. As I’ve mentioned before, society’s definition of beauty is so narrow and boring. The features that fall outside of that definition are usually labeled flaws, when in fact, like Anna Paquin’s smile, they set each of us apart and should be celebrated. I’ve noticed that the things that got us teased in elementary school–whether it be our height, weight, frizzy hair, scars, freckles, or less-than-dainty ankles–often become our favorite features in adulthood. “Maybe it should be weird, simulating sex with your husband in front of people. But it’s really not. When it’s a love scene with someone you actually love it’s not, ‘Can I touch him here, can I touch him there?’ You know what your boundaries are, or aren’t I suppose … There is probably something wrong with me, but I find it amusing to watch these men and women fawn all over him. It’s not like anyone is really trying to do anything inappropriate. They just him to hug them … or bite them.”

This just might be my favorite Entertainment Weekly cover ever. Since Sunday night brings the “True Blood” season four premiere, EW has issued three covers featuring Anna Paquin posing “American Gothic”-style alongside Alexander Skarsgard, Joe Maganeillo, and her real-life husband Stephen Moyer. My fave is this Alexander one, because both of them have such perfect expressions. My least favorite has to be the Joe version, which you can check out after the jump. Normally, sequels aren’t my thing. But I am getting pretty pumped for “Scream 4.” We already knew that Emma Roberts, niece of Julia, was starring and that Hayden Panetierre was playing her bestie. And that Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette would be reviving their iconic roles. Now some new players have been added to the mix. Apparently, Anna Paquin has been cast in the flick! As has the amazing Kristen Bell of “Veronica Mars!” And Shenae Grimes, who you probably know from “90210″ but was far superior on “Degrassi“!
