By now you’ve probably heard that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have asked Bono to be godfather to their twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline. And that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz are considering John Mayer for godfather of their unborn child. I’ve never really thought about famous godparents probably because I’ve never really had a great relationship with my own godparents, except for my late Uncle Eddie. Julie Newmar, the actress who originated the role of Catwoman in the Batman TV series recently said Angelina Jolie would own the part. “She’s tremendously popular with women because she’s both a heroine and a villainess,” Julie said. “When you look at the staggering box office of this current film, which actress wouldn’t want to jump in?” Now, the Dark Knight writers don’t have any plans to bring back the character in the current franchise, but when Catwoman is resurrected, these actresses will certainly get into cat fights (har) with each other over who gets cast. I was very excited to see Wanted because it stars two of my most favorite sexual beings ever: James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie. I dragged our usual “We See Chick Flicks” scribe, Lesley, out to see the movie on Friday night and needless to say, I was a bit worried at first that she would never speak to me again. The first 10 minutes are intensely violent and bloody, but after that, the part of your brain that makes you gag when you see a bullet enter a skull in slow motion starts to deaden a little, and the rest of the movie is pretty easy to watch.
