I love Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield. They’re adorable and clearly glass-half-full types, as they often use the paparazzi following them around like vultures to promote causes they believe it. Like today, the couple was photographed strolling around NYC carrying signs directing people who eventually looked at the snaps — like y’all! — to support YouthMentoring.org, AutismSpeaks.org, WWO.org and GildasClubNYC.org. Cool use of their fame — and definitely nicer than flippin’ the bird. Keep reading »
Last month at Coachella, Andrew Garfield walked out on stage in a white lace dress and a blonde wig to strike a few victorious poses during Arcade Fire’s song, “We Exist.” As the teaser we posted last week indicated, the live footage was shot for the finale of the “We Exist” video, which stars Garfield as a young person struggling with gender identity. The mini movie is equal parts heartbreaking and inspiring, a combination of reality and fantasy. By the end, it’s hard not to cheer along with the Coachella crowd. Check it out above. [Rolling Stone]
There was so much music-related news hitting the interwebs today, that we decided to just gather it all into a quick roundup. Where to start…
- Arcade Fire offers up 20-sec. video teaser for “We Exist,” which features “Amazing Spider-Man” star Andrew Garfield, wearing a long, blonde wig and walking through the crowd at Coachella Valley Arts and Music Festival. So, there’s that. [Pink Is The New Blog] Keep reading »
To quote my friend Greg, who sent me the link to this video of Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield dancing to “Bamboleo” on BBC Radio 1, “If Andrew Garfield’s tiny little dancing hips don’t turn your day around, nothing will.” [YouTube]
But not quite, of course. Sure, I ran 12 city blocks — in heels — to stand next to him in front of Whole Foods. Yeah, I’m working on a rom-com screenplay about my crush on him. And I definitely am alone in having to suffer through a Goservention. But still, it has come to my attention that I — okay, and tens of thousands of regular folks — am not the only one who has a major boner for Ryan Gosling. Quite a few celebrities — including otherwise straight men — have a special place in their hearts (and spank banks) for the Gos. Read on for some unadulterated Gosling worship… Keep reading »
After seeing Jay-Z perform with wife Beyonce this weekend, I had two thoughts: 1) They can never break up, and 2) If the music industry has Jay and Beyonce as their modern power couple, who does Young Hollywood have? Who is the 2012 version of Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart? I mean, Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, not to mention Amy Poehler and Will Arnett, have split — which famous pair is poised to take the super couple reigns and hold on for dear life? The obvious choice would be Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, but I think we can all agree they are swimming in rough waters right now and can’t really be expected to do the job.
With that in mind, I decided to anoint the new guard of up-and-coming Hollywood super couples, celebs who are great alone but even stronger together. Keep reading »
Clever kids! Adorable couple Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield were having lunch in New York City this weekend, when they discovered paparazzi were lying in wait outside. So they took advantage of the publicity and quickly made these signs which read:
“We just found out that there are paparazzi outside the restaurant we were eating in so… why not take this opportunity to bring attention to organizations that need and deserve it? www.wwo.org and www.gildasclubnyc.org. Have A Great Day!”
WWO stands for the Worldwide Orphans Foundation and Gilda’s Club in a cancer charity. Props to them for their creativity — much better than a middle finger. (On a completely different note, is that L. Ron Hubbard on Andrew’s T-shirt or is Xenu playing tricks on me?)
Last night, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, along with a slew of others, turned out for the Los Angeles premiere of their new film, “The Amazing Spider-man.” The couple met while shooting the film, so even if the movie totally stinks, at least one of the most adorable unions ever took place. Lots of stars turned out for the premiere. Let’s see what they wore, hmm?
First, the bad news: someone stole my deceased grandmother’s couch and made a dress out of it for Emma Stone. So, so, so rude. Just ask okay? My family and I would have said no, of course, because it is ugly and doesn’t make for a good dress at all and is also, like, 30 years old and that’s gross. Anyway, now the good news: Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield are just so damn cute together and the loving looks between them are totally distracting from being mad about the whole couch thing.
