Anderson Cooper, Back In The Day

Color me shocked that Anderson Cooper didn’t pop out of the womb with a head of grayish white hair. Check out this recently unearthed photo of the CNN anchor from the ’90s, looking like an extra on the set of “Saved By The Bell.” Nice white jeans, Coop. [via Buzzfeed] Keep reading »

Lady Gaga Got Anderson Cooper Drizzunk

“We actually ended up that day in a pub in London drinking Jameson, which I don’t really drink. So, she got me to drink, like, two of them. And by the end, I was ready to have the interview be over, because I really sort of couldn’t ask anymore questions.”

Vince Vaughn Wants To Keep Gay Joke In Movie

Last week, Anderson Cooper expressed disapproval over a gay slur included in a trailer (watch above) for a new Vince Vaughn movie. Universal has since agreed to remove the joke from the movie under pressure from GLAAD, but Vaughn thinks it should stay, saying:

“Let me add my voice of support to the people outraged by the bullying and persecution of people for their differences, whatever those differences may be. Comedy and joking about our differences breaks tension and brings us together. Drawing dividing lines over what we can and cannot joke about does exactly that; it divides us. Most importantly, where does it stop.”

Anderson Cooper Calls Out Vince Vaughn

“I was sitting in a movie theater over the weekend and there was a preview of a movie, and in it, the actor said, ‘that’s so gay,’ and I was shocked that not only that they put it in the movie, but that they put that in the preview. They thought that it was okay to put that in a preview for the movie to get people to go and see it.”

Anderson Cooper Announces A Daytime Show

Perhaps to lessen the blow of the fact that this is Oprah‘s last season, Anderson Cooper has announced that he is getting into the daytime television game next fall with a new show, which he’ll do in addition to “Anderson Cooper 360.” He said in a statement, “Over the course of the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a number of daytime programs. The format is unique and you can really go in-depth on a wide range of fascinating and compelling stories. With this new program I hope to relay important information and relate to people and the audience in a completely different way.” And by ‘new way,’ we hope he means he’ll be just as hilarious as he was during his guest hosting spots on “Live with Regis and Kelly.” Check out the clip above where he thigh dances with Kelly Ripa. Gone Are The Days Of Tweed And Trenches In The Journalist’s Uniform—Bring On The Muscles

America is used to seeing CNN’s Anderson Cooper in a suit and Dr. Sanjay Gupta similarly dressed, or even in a lab coat. So when the two reporters recently appeared on-air from Haiti dressed in muscle-bearing tight t-shirts, they (perhaps inadvertently) sparked a debate about how journalists should be dressing. Laments the New York Times, the two men “looked a lot less like the usual harried, disheveled examples of those in the profession than like bendable action dolls.”

The New York Times is quick to blame Cooper’s dashing-good looks as an influence on the change: “You could call it the Anderson Cooper effect. Mr. Cooper has rarely missed an opportunity throughout his career to showcase his buff physique … ” Valerie Steele, the director of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology, calls this the “international superstar journalist look.”
