Amputee Receives A Special Mermaid Tail

For those of you who are tired of hearing about the Kardashian wedding (me!), check out this video of a double amputee whose life has been changed thanks to a special prosthetic tail. Nadia lost both of her legs due to a medical condition at the age of four. Since sports were out of the question, she immersed herself in swimming, telling other kids she was a mermaid. Years later her dream of becoming an actual mermaid (well kind of) came true when she wrote a letter to the Weta Workshop in New Zealand, Peter Jackson’s specialty costume studio. Special effects geniuses made Nadia a custom prosthetic mermaid tail so she would be able to swim, well, like a mermaid. Amputee Plays Piano With His Feet Better Than We’ll Ever Play With Our Hands

Twenty-three-year-old Liu Wei lost his arms in an electrocution accident when he was only 10 years old. But that didn’t stop him from learning to play the piano — with his toes.
