Male Pole Dancer Wows On “America’s Got Talent”

I have a new favorite contestant on “America’s Got Talent,” one who I think rivals Prince Poppycock in grandeur. His name is Steve Retchless and he is a “pole-fessional.” In other words, he’s a pole dancer. “You don’t usually think of males in pole dancing,” said Howie Mandel after his intro. Steven’s response? “That’s why I’m here.” And yes, he was pretty freaking awesome dancing to Katy Perry’s “E.T.” I even like the way this dude fell. While one judge x-ed him quickly when he dared do a split, I’m so glad Sharon Osbourne and Nick Cannon stood up for him. “Talent is talent. It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing high heels,” said Nick. LeAnn Rimes Takes A Page From The Katy Perry Playbook

I must admit I am not a follower of LeAnn Rimes’ music, only her love life and her Lifetime movie acting career, so I don’t know much about what her recent music has been like. But I must say, her performance on Wednesday night’s “America’s Got Talent” suggests she’s been taking cues from Jessica Simpson and Katy Perry. What’s up with the retro bathing suit? Also, Eddie Cibrian should maybe be a little concerned — at one point, LeAnn straddles a backup dance; that’s how her first marriage (to backup dancer Dean Sheremet got its start. Gabourey Sidibe’s Mom Wows On “America’s Got Talent”

Gabourey Sidibe may be an Oscar-nominated actress, but her mom, at 58, is still chasing her own dreams. Alice Tan Ridley has been a subway singer for 20 years and finally got a big break on “America’s Got Talent” this week (clip above). Could she be America’s answer to Susan Boyle? Time will tell! Miss Piggy And Kermit To Show Their Fluff On “America’s Got Talent”

You know what there’s not nearly enough of on television these days? Muppets. Which is why I’m giddy that Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog will be performing tonight on “America’s Got Talent.” I don’t know exactly what they’ll be doing, besides celebrating the 40th anniversary of “Sesame Street,” but I’m hoping that Kermit will sing “It’s Not Easy Being Green” while Miss Piggy synchronize swims in the background like she did in “The Great Muppet Caper.” Also appearing with them—crotchety old critics Statler and Waldorf. Let’s hope they take over for judges Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne.

There is one other performer tonight who I’m not as enthused about—former “Talent” judge David Hasselhoff. Wait, maybe he and Kermit will be vying for Miss Piggy’s love? That’d be cool. [People] Keep reading »

Grandma Lee: America’s Own Susan Boyle

Grandma Lee, a contestant on last night’s episode of “America’s Got Talent,” doesn’t sing, dance, or do magic. She simply tells jokes — ones you wouldn’t expect a 75-year-old grandmother to tell. I thought the show was setting her up to bomb, but she really was kind of funny and had great delivery. I didn’t expect sweet and wrinkled Grandma Lee to talk about her daughter losing her virginity. The judges sent her to Vegas to compete some more, and I’ll be curious to hear her next stand-up routine. If singers are more your thing, you should also check out Barbara Padilla’s performance. She’s actually a diva in the real meaning of the word. Keep reading »

Busty Heart Kung Fu’s Her Way Onto America’s Got Talent

Dolly Parton’s rack ain’t got nuthin’ on this lady! Busty Heart, the proprietor of a gentlemen’s club in Pennsylvania, lives up to her stripper name. In fact, just the site of her “dangerous curves” made a 35-year-old guy keel over dead! In the above video from America’s Got Talent, her boob karate chops through 3 wood planks. Three! My mom sent me to a dojo for years and I still couldn’t break more than one with my hand. [Dlisted]
