Today would have been Calamity Jane’s 156th birthday, if scientists had ever figured out a way for humans to live forever (or at least past the age of 51, the age Jane died). Though this frontierswoman’s contribution to American History is somewhat up for debate (for example, she claimed she served under Custer, though no records exist in support of that), there’s no doubt that this lady was a renegade and a friggin’ bad ass.
