Remember when Amanda Bynes popped up on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy show “All That.” She was the newest edition to the cast and almost immediately out-shined everyone. The “Ask Ashley” segment where she played a hot headed middle-schooler who was more likely to have a violent outburst than offer any real advice was COMEDY GOLD. Amanda was so good that she was the only cast member besides the legendary Kenan and Kel to get her own show. Even when The Amanda Show was over, what could have been the end of any young actress’ career wasn’t over. Amanda scored a sitcom “What I Like About You” that was on for four seasons. She was in that so-bad-it’s-good-movie, “She’s The Man,” and co-starred with Emma Stone in “Easy A.” Read more…

More Bizarre Behavior From Amanda Bynes

Breaking news: Amanda Bynes is still acting very, very strange. The latest: She had to move out of her New York apartment and into a hotel under threat of eviction, because neighbors were complaining about her bizarre behavior. “Her door was left open all the time,” one tells the New York Post. “And we saw that she put red [lightbulbs] in every outlet.” She also once walked down to the lobby at 2am, “laughing hysterically for four minutes,” then returned to her apartment. “She was really nice at first,” the source adds. “She knocked on some doors and introduced herself and wanted to hang out, but then she started acting weird.” Read more…

I don’t think it’s a secret that former teen star Amanda Bynes, 26, is having some issues lately. Starting in the summer of 2012, Bynes — who starred in the movies “What A Girl Wants” and “Hairspray,” and the TV show “What I Like About You” — had a string of vehicular incidents including a DUI arrest and two hit-and-run charges, leading to a suspended license. In September 2012, the actress locked herself inside a dressing room in LA for two hours and then a cupcake shop bathroom in NYC for a half hour. She’s created and deleted countless Twitter and Tumblr accounts, announced her early retirement from acting, and denied having mental health issues. For some reason, Us Weekly decided that Bynes was a good choice for their regular “25 Things You Don’t Know About Me” feature, but I really think it should have been cut down to 24 things, as one tidbit on Bynes’ list strikes me as disturbing. Here is #15 on Bynes’ list:

15. I moved to New York City and I love it! I lost 4 lbs. since I moved. I’m 121 lbs — my goal is 100 lbs.

Next Up For Amanda Bynes: A Fashion Line, Naturally

Not that she needed to invite further comparisons between herself and Lindsay Lohan, but Amanda Bynes has announced plans for a clothing line. In fact, she’s so serious about it that she has officially quit acting and will move to New York to pursue it. She told People yesterday:

I am doing amazing… I am retired as an actor. I am moving to New York to launch my career. I am going to do a fashion line.

She also denied her recent DUI charges, insisting, “I don’t drink, and I don’t drink and drive. It is all false.” People also noted that Bynes was “polite, respectful and upbeat on the phone,” but added that she behaved strangely at the West Hollywood Equinox gym the other day. Read more…
