Alexander Wang’s runway show is one of the hardest fashion week spots to score a ticket to. The music is always great, his clothes embody bad ass chic, and the models he sends down the runway are hot and extra stomp-y. But it wasn’t always that way. Planned Parenthood Is The New Target When It Comes To Designer Collaborations

Up-and-coming designers doing collaborations with Target is becoming too predictable a path to success. Instead, an alternate way to gain name recognition and visibility is to design a line of condoms. Yes, that’s right, designer condoms. Marc Jacobs designed a rubber wrapper on his own, and then last September, Planned Parenthood released a Yigal Azrouël-designed condom wrapper for its Proper Attire line. The Planned Parenthood/designer collaboration is continuing this season with Alexander Wang‘s simple black and white package ($5.99 for 3), which just happen to match his Fall 2009 collection that came down the runway on Feb. 14. In Case Michelle Obama Still Hasn’t Found The Perfect Inauguration Night Dress…

Only 13 more days until Inauguration Day, and the fashion world is still in a tizzy about what Michelle Obama should wear. Style.com asked previous CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund designers to offer their suggestions since Obama has worn dresses by past Fashion Fund participants Thakoon and Jason Wu. Above, from left, Michelle’s Inauguration Night gown according to Alexander Wang, Vena Cava, and Derek Lam. We’re not so sure the first lady can get away with showing off her stems and her back on her husband’s first day of work, but the one-shoulder Derek Lam would be amazing on her — she has such nicely toned arms.
