Alexa Chung Adds Pepe Jeans To Her Resume
MTV might have canceled “It’s On With Alexa Chung,” but Alexa‘s career is hardly on a downward spiral. She’s adding “face of Pepe Jeans” to her resume now that she’s featured, along with models Tom Guinness and Boyd Holbrook, in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign. “Gossip Girl” star Taylor Momsen and supermodel Miranda Kerr both showed up at MTV Studios in Times Square today for “It’s On With Alexa Chung” guest appearances. Rihanna was a guest on “It’s On With Alexa Chung” today, and Alexa was able to give the girl a break by moving the conversation past the domestic violence she experienced at the hands of Chris Brown. Rihanna talks briefly about the spike in calls to domestic abuse hotlines after her “20/20″ interview, but then we get to hear about the lighter side of her life — how she chooses her tattoos, what it’s like working with Ne-Yo, and how a fan can get her look. Over-The-Knee Socks: Cute Or Repulsive?
Last week on MTV’s “It’s On With Alexa Chung,” Alexa accessorized a plaid dress by pulling on a pair of over-the-knee socks. On her, the socks create a cute and cozy look, but I’m not sure I’m gonna try to wear them, even though they would be a lot easier to pull off (and less of an investment) than this season’s thigh-high boots. When I was in high school, the “cool” girls would come to school wearing thigh-highs with short skirts, and I’m afraid pairing knee socks with a skirt would bring back memories of my adolescence.
