Lil’ Kim Chops Off Nicki Minaj’s Head On New Album Cover

Nicki Minaj has repeatedly said she doesn’t understand how the beef between her and Lil’ Kim started. (“You see Gaga, you see Madonna—but Madonna never hated on Gaga,” she said. “Why in the black community we gotta hate on each other instead of saying ‘Thank you for showing me love, thank you for keeping my name alive?’”) Well, Lil’ Kim just took the rivalry to the next level. She not only titled her new mixtape Black Friday—Nicki’s album is Pink Friday—but on the cover, she shows Nicki with her head severed. Why is he holding a guitar? He doesn’t play! Is he on a spaceship? Is that a moon? Why are his pants so tight? Who are those creatures in the bottom corner? When I saw this album cover, before my first cup of coffee for the day, I thought this was Pink going through a blue period. But nope, it’s the cover for Adam Lambert‘s first album, For Your Entertainment. Folks on the interwebs are calling it “glamtastic,” but I think it’s a few steps beyond that—homedude got in a time machine, traveled back to the ’80s, went to the mall for a Glamour Shot, and paid extra for the “extreme airbrushing” package. I totally love Gigwise’s list of the Top 50 Dirtiest Album Covers. There was the stuff that automatically to mind, like The Rolling Stones’ Sticky Fingers, 2 Live Crew’s As Nasty As They Wanna Be, and The Black Crowes’ Amorica but then the list also had some we totally forgot about. RATT’s Invasion Of Your Privacy! Prince’s Lovesexy! Bob Geldof’s Sex, Age & Death! But my personal favorite has to be Lords Of Acid’s Crab Louse, an album seemingly named after pubic lice.
