Advice From A Stripper: How To Wear High Heels

Today’s high heels regularly reach five inches, and platforms formerly reserved for stripper shoes are an honest-to-goodness civilian trend. While the figure-enhancing allure of a higher heel is obvious to this dancer, I’m surprised every time I see a young woman clomping along the sidewalk in a pair of shoes in which she clearly can’t walk. There’s a learning curve to graceful perambulation in high heels, and some gals try to leap from one-inch kitten heels to five-inch spikes without giving themselves a chance to learn how to walk the walk. It’s no surprise there’s a class that’ll teach you how to walk in heels, but if you can’t spend a week in hooker-heel class, you can still use my pointers. Advice From A Stripper: The Early Warning Guide To Bad Boyfriends

You can tell a lot about a man by how he acts in a strip club. Does he treat it like a consequence-free environment, or does he act like the same person he is outside? So many of my coworkers at the club make no personal use of all their professional experiences observing and interacting with different types of men. In fact, I know they’re ignoring this inside knowledge, because I hear at least one screaming fight on a cell phone a night in the dressing room. Some of us are thinking, “Girl, when he made you pay for two dates in a row, you should’ve known,” or “That man is a serial stripper dater — what were you thinking?” Bad boyfriends reveal themselves pretty readily whether they’re on dates or in the club, and I’m here to connect the dots, so you don’t have to waste your time. Advice From A Stripper: Strip Club Etiquette

Stupid mainstreaming of stripper culture. If I have to read another article about recession strippers, pole dancing classes, or strippers-turned-respectable-citizens, I’m going to throw my platforms at the cat. Our audience has changed, and instead of show behavior being learned by a young man on the occasion of his 18th or 21st birthday, it’s imparted from Auto-Tuned vocals and lists on the web. I’ve seen customers like the girl who slapped my ass so hard she bruised me, or the guy who threw quarters wrapped in dollar bills onto the stage. However, I assume ignorance before malice on their part, and, in that spirit, I offer these etiquette tips for customers in the strip club. Keep reading »
