Forget the pages of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar: if you really want to know what the latest fashion and style trends are, you need to check out What Ali Wore. Our culture tends to make women disappear as we age, so it’s exciting to see that the blog Advanced Style has been turned into a documentary and book. Then there’s former dancer Jackie, whose posture puts me to shame. And Ilana, who’s 91 and makes her own faux eyelashes from clippings of her hair. As she’s leaving the stage in a hail of compliments, she tells the hosts, “I’m glad that you enjoy my freedom” (I’m so adopting that phrase). Finally, 100-year-old Ruth Cohen models, with her grandson Ari, who started the blog. But listen “Today Show” ladies, don’t take too long, Ruth’s got a pilates class to get to. [MSNBC]
