Were you lucky enough to nab tickets to see Adele this month? Well, I’m very sorry to report that her upcoming 10-city US tour has been cancelled thanks to a vocal chord hemorrhage. “Singing is literally my life—it’s my hobbie, my love, my freedom and now my job,” Adele wrote, explaining her rationale for canceling her dates along the East Coast and in the South for the second time. “I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or i risk damaging my voice forever … I have great confidence in believing you know how much this upsets me, how seriously i take it and how truly devastated and annoyed i am by this.” [Gossip Cop]

Adele‘s “Someone Like You” is the most gut-wrenching song ever. As in, I had to stop listening to it because it just brought me to a dark place. And now, following her bonkers performance of the song at the MTV VMAs, Adele has released the video for the song. It shows her walking along the river in Paris, by herself, in black and white. Adele Is Forming A Friendship With Her Ex

“We’re becoming friends again. It’s alright, I know what I’m doing. Enough time has gone by. Now with what’s going on with the album around the world, it’s important to be able to share it with him because it’s marvelous what has happened. He changed my life, I can’t deny that. The album helped me get over splitting up with my boyfriend. It helped me forgive and I hope that he has forgiven himself. I’m not boastful but selling 10 million albums for a little girl from Tottenham, I’m very proud of that.”

—Adele says she is once again in touch with the mystery guy who inspired the songs “Rolling in the Deep” and “Someone Like You.” I’m so glad to hear that she feels largely healed from the breakup, and that she’s big enough to acknowledge that, whatever this guy did wrong, he is a small part of her success. The MTV Video Music Awards are kind of hilarious, considering the complete lack of videos played on MTV these days. But at least we can count on one thing from them: insane fashion. Everyone has carte blanche to come dressed up as a pile of trash, or a geisha robot or whatever–and this year, that’s exactly what happened. This Air Force Soldier Has “The Voice”

File this story under “the Internet is awesome.” Just a few days ago, an anonymous soldier posted this video of a military band covering Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” starring a camo-clad singer with a serious set of pipes. Carson Daly saw the video and was able to track down the mystery woman on Twitter. Her name is Angie Johnson, and she’s a member of a U.S. Air Forces Central Expeditionary Band called “Sidewinder,” currently stationed in the Middle East. She and Daly exchanged a few Twitter messages, and it looks like she might be appearing on a certain singing competition/reality TV show in the near future. Adele Predicts An Early Death

“Oh my God, I’m crippled by fear. I have awful stage fright. I don’t know what possesses me to do it. I think I’m going to die young from having so much stress all the time … After my first record I moved out of my mum’s and moved to Notting Hill on my own. My life fell apart. My phone got cut off, my credit card got cut off, the house was a mess. It was awful. I couldn’t function without my mum so I moved back in with her … I’d rather be defeated than one day come in and the rats would be eating me.”

—Adele reveals her deepest fears in OK! magazine. I’m not sure what to say about her candid confessions. They are very dark. It sounds like she’s in a lot of pain and may need some professional support to manage her anxiety and depression. I would still be singing in the shower, of course, but yeah—[I would have given up] my career, my friendships, my hobbies. I would have given up trying to be the best… He was my soul mate. We had everything—on every level we were totally right. We’d finish each other’s sentences, and he could just pick up how I was feeling by the look in my eye, down to a T, and we loved the same things, and hated the same things, and we were brave when the other was brave and weak when the other one was weak—almost like twins, you know—and I think that’s rare when you find the full circle in one person, and I think that’s what I’ll always be looking for in other men.”

—Adele tells Out Magazine that she would gladly give up her career and, well, pretty much anything if it meant things would work out with the guy she sang about on her heartbreaking and genius album, 21.
