I have an unreasonably difficult time separating gorgeous ginger Amy Adams from her Disney princess character in “Enchanted.” This is exactly what I imagine a princess would wear should she leave the castle to attend a small awards ceremony, because duh, princesses always wear floor-length Oscar de la Renta, even to fairly casual events.

Was 2009 The “Year Of The Woman” In Movies?
There are pretty much three roles for actresses in mainstream movies—the ingenue, the quirky best friend, or the mother—and all other actresses get sent to the glue factory. Some actresses enjoy diverse careers, like Meryl Streep, Judi Dench and Helen Mirren, who’ve always been cast in deep roles regardless of their age. But they are the exception.
In 2009, something highly unusual happened: newcomer Gabby Sidibe, a plus-sized black woman who looks like no one in Hollywood, starred in “Precious”; Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep both starred in multiple hits; and the truly “crazy” part is, several mainstream movies starring female leads grossed more than movies starring male leads. I love award shows, so this means something coming from me — The Emmy’s sucked. And I’m not just bitter because Jon Hamm didn’t win Best Actor in a Drama Series for playing Don Draper on “Mad Men”. Oh The Faux Possibilities!
Plastic surgery just isn’t good enough anymore if you want to be an in-demand actor. Image Metrics is literally changing the face of performers through 3-D imaging, and just like a great pair of fake boobs, they’re even better looking than the real thing. The demo is so lifelike, you’ll swear you’ve known the spokesmodel since summer camp. So how do they do it? Amazingly enough, there’s no need for weird wires or funky doo-dads attached to the actor’s face, Image Metrics builds its models off a computer program that scans plain old video. Hookers On Film: Want A Best Actress Oscar? Play A Whore!
We’ve been thinkin’ about hookers lately, after last week’s poll and our new obsession with Secret Diary Of A Call Girl. After researching ladies of the night in films and TV, we’ve noticed an interesting trend — pricey call girls are incredibly fashionable, as Secret Diary suggested, but news that Darren Star would be producing an HBO based on Diary Of A Manhattan Call Girl proves it.
