An Anatomically Correct Anthony Weiner Doll

Action figurine company HeroBuilders.com has wasted no time jumping on Weinergate. They have released an Anthony Weiner doll that comes in two versions—regular ($39.95) and anatomically correct ($49.95). While the face looks nothing like Weiner to me, he does come bedecked in gym clothes and has a label on his shorts that says “Tweet this.” I guess you could make him bump plastic parts with Barbie? The New Justin Bieber Dolls Look 30

Have no fear, Justin Bieber action figures are here. These new dolls of the Bieb will be available at Target and Walmart in early December—the one on the right plays 30-second snippets of “Baby” and “One Less Lonely Girl,” while the one on the left is from the “JB Style Collection” and just has nice duds. Is it just me, or do these dolls seem a little off? First of all, the hair is not nearly swooshy enough. And the figurines look way older than 16. I think it’s the manly thick neck that’s to blame. Do The “True Blood” Action Figures Do The Actors Justice?

OK, so technically these are “busts” not action figures since they don’t have legs and aren’t really meant to be played with. In other words, you can’t make Bill, Sookie, and Eric have a threesome by rubbing their figurines together the way I might have done with Barbie, Ken, and Midge, but I digress. Bill and Sookie’s busts are pretty accurate, but Eric’s does not even come close to capturing ASkar’s essence, at least in the face. The body is pretty hot though. For a toy, er, display piece I mean. [$69.99 each, HBO] Keep reading »

Michelle Obama Is Now An Action Figure

What with those sculpted arms and supermom credentials, it was only a matter of time before someone would turn the First Lady into some type of cartoon-y character. Behold the new Michelle Obama action figure, a product of Jailbreak Toys (which also produces the similar Barack Obama action figure). While the doll’s huge head and teeny waist sure depict a weird version of Michelle, it stays true to her personal style, bringing back to life some of her more famous outfits—the black and red dress by Narciso Rodriguez that she wore on election night and the more affordable White House/Black Market dress she wore on “The View.”

MObama probably wouldn’t shut down the operation like she did with the Sasha and Malia dolls, but we do wonder how she feels about this. Thoughts? [Cool Hunting] Keep reading »
