Beauty Test Drive: Kiehl’s Organic Açaí Collection

You remember that whole açaí berry craze, no? Sure ya do. Well, now in addition to drinking it up, you can slather it all over your face. This summer, my combination, acne-prone skinned self and I cleansed, toned and moisturized with Kiehl’s Rare Earth Pore Minimalizing collection, which definitely got the job done and kept oil slicks at bay. But now that it’s getting chilly out, you may have noticed your skin is getting drier (and sadder!). Luckily, Kiehl’s is to the rescue again with a line of hydrating products that use açaí, a powerful antioxidant, to repair damaged skin, like oh, say, the kind you acquired over the summer on those days when you forgot to apply sunscreen. The Cleanser feels extra refreshing — it smells light and fresh and vaguely herbal/medicinal in a really good way. I’m addicted to spritzing the Toning Mist on my mug; the serum feels like it packs a serious punch (indeed, clinical tests showed using the products improved the look of aging considerably, probably owing to the highly concentrated, 10 percent, main ingredient), and the rich, creamy moisturizer hits the spot on my getting drier by the day complexion. Though if you’re an oily type, I would only recommend it for every other day. Bonus points: The whole enchilada is environmentally friendly (EcoCert labeled), organic and paraben-free. Damaged goods?
