Jennifer Lawrence and Lupita Nyong’o fight over Oscar! Matthew and Camilla makeout! John Travolta studies and then retains absolutely no memory of how to pronounce Idina Menzel’s name! All that and more backstage snaps from last night’s Academy Awards…
I gotta say, with the exception of Whoopi Goldberg’s weird interpretation of Julia Roberts’ Golden Globes ensemble, there was not one person at last night’s Academy Awards who made a major fashion faux pas. (See all the red carpet arrival photos here!) I could not assemble a worst dressed list if I tried. Instead, I’ll just tell you which stars left me totally slack-jawed, from Kate Hudson’s drapey, capey situation and Lupita’s powder blue Cinderella moment, to Jared Leto’s red bow tie and Angelina Jolie’s, well, everything. I just came across this photo and couldn’t not share. Lupita Nyong’o is so poised one moment and so hilarious the next. Flawless! Just date already, you two. [Photo: Getty Images]
Missed last night’s Academy Awards? No worries, I’ve got you covered. Here are the very best moments from the Oscars, including Lupita Nyong’o's intense moment with Liza Minnelli, that much-tweeted selfie, and John Travolta’s amazing inability to pronounce a Broadway star’s name. Keep reading »
WOOHOO! It’s Oscar time! I’ll be updating this gallery ALL NIGHT with photos of the celebs as they walk the red carpet. What will Lupita Nyong’o wear? Exactly how will Jared Leto’s mane of luscious ombre locks be styled? Will anyone dare to ask Cate Blanchett about Woody Allen? Keep checking back for photos! Let’s face it: sometimes the Academy Awards suck. At last year’s Oscars, we were lucky enough to have some solid entertainment in the form of Seth MacFarlane’s terrible “We Saw Your Boobs” song, Jennifer Lawrence‘s fall up the stage (which she later blamed on cake), Catherine Zeta-Jones’ “All That Jazz” dance number and Ben Affleck’s mighty redemption by winning Best Picture for “Argo.” We can only hope this year provides us with as much material for water cooler chit-chat the following morning.
Join @TheFrisky on Twitter as we live tweet throughout the red carpet pre-show and (hopefully eventful) awards. Tune in to ABC this Sunday, March 2, starting at 7 p.m. EST, to follow along and be sure to head over to Twitter for the REAL entertainment. See you then!
