“I’m hesitant to say this because I don’t want to knock anybody who’s done it, but the whole thing with plastic surgery…When you’re around people who celebrate age and respect every line for telling a story, it’s beautiful. I wish there was more of a celebration of getting older. When I do magazine shoots, people always say, ‘Oh, she doesn’t age,’ but I have the best make-up people and photographers. I don’t look like that every day.”
– Winona Ryder serves up some realness to Red magazine about the aging process and claims, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, that she is indeed getting older like a normal human being. That wasn’t even the best part of the interview, though. Winona also revealed that she is renting a cottage from — wait for it — Helen Mirren! And apparently Helen is a hands-on landlord… Keep reading »
Beetlejuice certainly did have a lecherous side too, didn’t he? Lydia (aka Winona Ryder) does not approve. [Facebook]
“I was in the middle of auditioning, and I was mid-sentence when the casting director said, ‘Listen, kid. You should not be an actress. You are not pretty enough. You should go back to wherever you came from and you should go to school. You don’t have it.’ She was very blunt — I honestly think that she thought she was doing me a favor. … But it’s funny — and this is a testament to my parents and how they raised me — I wasn’t crushed. They had always instilled in me that it was way cooler to be an individual and to be unique and that you don’t want to blend in.”
— I don’t want to live in a world where Winona Ryder is not “pretty” enough to be an actress. Beyond being pretty, she’s also interesting and intelligent and lovely… but I suppose that matters significantly less when your worth is based largely upon how good you look on a two-dimensional screen. For the record, though, Winona looks ridiculously gorgeous on the cover of the May issue of Interview. [Us Weekly]
I know a lot of you could probably give a damn about this story but, because Winona Ryder and “Little Women” were the closest things to perfection to me in my pre-teen, formative years, a Johnny Depp/Winona Ryder story will always be high on my radar.
…. Even if the story comes from the National Enquirer and is laughable at best.
Apparently Winona senses trouble in the Amber Heard situation and is itching to inch her way back into Johnny’s good graces. According to sources, Amber has been hounding Johnny to go public with their relationship and his reluctance is driving her back into the arms of her lesbian lover. The single life doesn’t seem like it’s been too calming for Johnny, does it? So, Winona recognizes the fact that she and Johnny got engaged and serious too young but sees now as the perfect time to rekindle their love. If Justin and Selena can make a go of it, why not Johnny and Winona? Read more on Celeb Dirty Laundry…
I don’t often dole out the “perfection” moniker, but Winona Ryder’s outfit — worn to the opening of the Ben Foster/Alec Baldwin Broadway play “Orphans” — is pretty great. Winona, who doesn’t seem to age at all, is wearing black leggings with a black sweater and white button-down underneath. It’s simple, classic and completely elegant. A totally chic chick. It seems that Gwyneth Paltrow’s new BFF is Cameron Diaz. The two have recorded a painfully awkward rap video for Chelsea Lately and were recently spotted at dinner together. If the two are indeed as chummy as they seem, then Cam is the latest in a long line of rich, beautiful Hollywood A-Listers like Madonna, Beyonce, Winona Ryder, and Kate Hudson who have previously held the coveted title of Gwynnie’s BFF. So, how does one become BFF to an Academy Award-winning lifestyle guru? Well, obviously, the first step is to fill out an application…
