Apparently there was a time in which Victoria Beckham had some serious cleavage. I don’t remember this time – but then again, I never really paid attention to anything Posh does – but it turns out, she actually did go through with getting breast implants at some point. Read what Victoria had to say about them on Celeb Dirty Laundry…
“I think what gave me confidence in myself was meeting the other [Spice] Girls. We always said we were all like rejects in our own way. We had to work hard, and they helped me accept me for who I was.”
– Victoria Beckham, this month’s Allure cover girl, tells the mag that after being bullied mercilessly in school (“I really wouldn’t wish it on any kid, because it’s horrible.”), joining the Spice Girls helped her find her inner Girl Power. Coincidentally, lip syncing “Wannabe” at the top of my lungs in my parents’ living room helped me find mine. Spice Girls 4EVER! [Grazia]
It’s that time of year again! That is, time for the the human clothing hangers better known as models to strut down the catwalks of Lincoln Center in beautiful, expensive and sometimes absurd designer clothing, for the Fall 2014 runway shows. Each day, we’ll present to you a selection of noteworthy shows so that, even if you can’t ultimately afford what you see (uh, we can’t), you’ll be up to date on the coming trends. Or at least have plenty of outfits, makeup and hair looks to drool over and/or laugh at. Keep reading »
David and Victoria Beckham may be mega-famous and strikingly beautiful, but they also happen to have giant hearts. Victoria Beckham tweeted today that she’s selling her shoes to raise money for survivors of Typhoon Haiyan. She tweeted, “Big clear out of my shoes, on sale tomorrow in aid of @BritishRedCross #ShopDrop,” with a photo of a mountain of gorgeous shoes of every size and color. The Spice Girl and her family donated clothes as well, and they’re encouraging fans to do the same. The shoes will be a part of the British Red Cross’s shop drop, a program that encourages people to donate quality clothes and other items to shops throughout the U.K. More information about the sale is available here if you’re near local and would like to support a great cause. Wait, why didn’t anyone tell me that David and Victoria Beckham are crazy? I thought they were both just criminally attractive, but after reading the details of their 1999 wedding, it turns out they are both nuts. First of all, she wore this custom-made 18-carat latticed yellow gold tiara (also called a coronet) set with diamonds and dangling diamond “drops” with her Vera Wang wedding gown. They got married inside a castle in Ireland — OK, not too abnormal for celebs — but they sat on golden thrones, released a single white dove while they read their wedding vows, dressed their flower girls like angels, and employed an 18-piece orchestra who played “a Spice Girls medley.” They employed 437 staff for the wedding and all guests had to wear security tags, including their son Brooklyn, who was an infant at the time. To each their own when you get married, but damn! I had no clue the Beckham nuptials were so over-the-top. Here’s one surprising fact, though: Victoria returned the coronet back to the designer Slim Barret after the wedding, instead of pocketing the schmancy trinket like a lot of celebs do. It has been on display in London’s Victoria And Albert Museum ever since. Now it’s going up for auction for $40,000. Hey, Duchess Kate, you need a tiara? [Telegraph UK, BBC]
Victoria Beckham’s probably had a stressful week — she’s launched two collections for New York Fashion Week and she has to have sex with David Beckham. (Don’t you feel bad for her?) Maybe that’s why she chose to wear this comically oversized sack dress while out on the town. I do like it, though it seems Posh is almost drowning in it, as if she was wearing her mother’s nightgown or something. What do you think? [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
I’m a sucker for a beautiful prints, which makes me a happy lady this Fashion Week. From flirty florals to edgy patterns, I’ve been seeing a lot of exquisite prints on jumpsuits, dresses, gowns…pretty much everything.
Two of my absolute favorites are the Victoria by Victoria Beckham long-sleeved dress and Alice + Olivia floral gown (seen above). I would wear the hell out of either one of these bad boys. Which do you like better? Click “vote” below your favorite pick to weigh in!
Black is timeless, classy and easy to wear, which is why you see it on the red carpet all the time. Here we have (from left to right) Miranda Cosgrove, Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham and Jessica Chastain all in black, some wearing the neutral more successfully than others. So, who’s got your favorite look? Vote below!
“I can’t put makeup on when Harper’s around, because she would try and do the same immediately. … [The kids] lead a very privileged life but they don’t get everything they ask for. We always tell them how lucky they are. [Cruz once asked], ‘Why is it good to be famous, mum?’ and my answer was, ‘When you’re famous, you have a certain power to do good things.’ That’s how we started talking about charity. Cruz was really sweet and said, ‘When people listen to what I say, I could spread some good messages.’ It was a nice conversation to have with my child who’s only eight years old.”
— Could David and Victoria Beckham be the best celebrity parents of all time? Mayhaps. I would never expect Posh to be such a doting, grounded mother, but every time she talks about her kids, she comes across as being very, very normal. Her decision not to apply makeup in front of her one-year-old daughter is a testament to how committed she is to letting her kids just be kids. Adopt me? [Vogue UK]
