Her 10 Best Looks: Kristen Stewart

For a long time, Kristen Stewart was sort of the postergirl for slacker style. When she’d go to premieres and events it seems like she’d barely even bother running a comb through her hair. But these days? Maybe she’s gotten a stylist, or maybe she’s simply looked through a few pictures from past events, but she’s cleaned up quite nicely! Now we can’t wait to see what she wears to the premiere of her upcoming film, “Snow White and the Huntsman.” (I guess having a boyfriend that’s almost as pretty as you can’t hurt either.) After the jump, we cull through and find Stewart’s surprising 10 best looks!

Michelle Trachtenberg Could Have Been Bella In “Twilight” & 22 Other Casting Close Calls

Attention Twihards! Be honest … could you imagine anyone other than Kristen Stewart playing Bella Swan in the “Twilight” series? Well, there was once a time when producers weren’t sure who they would cast, and actress Michelle Trachtenberg claims the role could have been hers. Catherine Hardwicke, who directed the first “Twilight” film, was apparently interested in possibly casting Michelle, who she knew fromalmost (so many close calls with this one!) hiring her for the movie “Thirteen.” Apparently Hardwicke thought Trachtenberg would be a good fit for the quiet, vaguely sullen future vampire lover. “Absolutely, and as a pro-choice feminist, that was certainly my concern going in. No matter what, I would not have done this movie if it violated my own beliefs — I would have just walked away — so I had to find a way into it that was in line with my own thinking and yet not violating anyone else’s beliefs. So that was probably one of the initial challenges of it. I’ve also heard the comment that Bella is the one who’s constantly sacrificing, and wow, I never saw her as someone who sacrificed anything. If anyone’s sacrificing anything, it’s Edward, because from the very beginning — and certainly in this film — she knows what she wants and goes for it, hell or high water. She’s perhaps even a little selfish because she’s so driven for what she wants. ‘Okay, so I die and Edward’s broken-hearted for the rest of eternity? Well, tough luck, I’m going for it anyway.’ She’s very clear, and frankly, I see her as a very strong character. Do other people see her as someone who sacrifices? Absolutely, but I’ve never written her that way, and it actually took me by surprise.”

Illinois Teenager Blames DUI Crash On Not Seeing “Twilight” Film

Thousands of dedicated fans turned out over the weekend to see “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1.” But for one teenage girl, the tragedy of not making it was a lot worse than choosing between Jacob or Edward.

Police in Illinois arrested an “extremely upset” 18-year-old girl on Saturday after she told authorities that she crashed her car because her boyfriend did not take her to see the new “Twilight” movie.

Cops found Olivia Christina Ornelas “extremely intoxicated” and after discovering her car, missing the front right tire and spun out in a ditch off Route 71, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Read more…

“I don’t know about “role model.” But I do think she’s an incredibly strong female character, who has a sense of what she wants, and what’s right, and goes after it. I find her extremely heroic in this movie, because she is thinking about sacrificing any kind of sense of safety in the service of something that she thinks of as more important than herself. But that’s just the physical thing she goes through. And then in the second part of it, when she turns into a fierce kind of warrior vampire goddess. It’s an extraordinary kind of journey for this character who started out in such an ordinary way.”

Bill Condon, who directed “Breaking Dawn: Part 1,” answers the age-old question about whether Bella is “good” or “bad” for women. Look, I’m as interested in depictions of women in pop culture as the next feminist. There’s no question that these narratives influence us to varying degrees. With that being said… Keep reading »
