Taylor Swift went and got herself a cool bobbed haircut with swoopy bangs and all of the sudden she’s my style muse. Maybe it’s just that her cool new cut is making me take notice of her and thus her fashion choices of late, but whatever, I am seriously coveting everything Taylor has been wearing lately. Whether she’s in head to toe black or working a touch of oxblood, lil’ Swift always looks pulled together without trying too hard. Click through for just some of the outfits she’s worn over the last week or so…
Sometimes a haircut is just a haircut. But sometimes a haircut is the impetus for an entire style rejiggering of sorts, as the new ‘do becomes the centerpiece of a whole new look. I sort of think that’s what’s been happening to Taylor Swift’s fashion sense, ever since she chopped her long blonde locks into a chic bob. Taylor was always a bit of a girlie girl, but this cool crop has first brought her inner goth and now her inner prep school kid out to play. Her bright marigold shoulder bag and brownish jeans (I would call them “adobe-colored” but that seemed a little fashion-person pretentious after already using the word marigold) keep this bookish look from treading into blah territory. I’m totally feelin’ her black skater skirt, leather jacket and booties, especially with her newish modern bobbed haircut. Get the look for yourself, after the jump… Keep reading »
Taylor Swift and Lorde have been spending quite a bit of time together — shopping, frolicking barefoot on the beach, wearing matching outfits — prompting many onlookers (including us) to refer to them as BFFs. But let’s be honest: as any BFF-havin’ lady knows, wearing matching outfits is only, like, level 3 out of 300 when it comes to a true best friendship. As a female friendship blossoms, the milestones come flying in fast. Some are fun and some are gut-wrenching — the first time you make a joke that makes your friend laugh so hard she farts; the first time you get crushes on the same guy; the first time you come up with dorky nicknames for each other; the first time you get in a fight that’s not instantly fixable. Should T-Swift and Lorde to make a real go of it, here are some BFF firsts they have to look forward to. Keep reading »
This is my life: after every major awards show, I lie awake contemplating my feelings toward Taylor Swift. What we have is a love/hate relationship of epic proportions, that leaves me fighting an inner battle every time I see her on television. Do I cheer? Hiss? Pre-order her next album? Most of the time I just watch her with awe, annoyed that I’m so compelled by someone who bothers me so much. But she’s not the only celebrity who leaves me with conflicted feelings. Here’s a whole gaggle of stars we love to hate (and hate to love).
