A-list Hollywood actors do cheesy ads abroad for mega-bucks, hoping no one in America will see them. Too late, George! In this spot for Nespresso espresso, Clooney, who plays an espresso drinker, hangs out with John Malkovich, who plays God, natch. The surreal spot was directed by Robert Rodriguez, who directed “Spy Kids” and “Sin City.” It’s kind of weird to see Michael Clayton hawking espresso, but I’ll take my George however I can get him. Leather Skirts Maybe … But Leather Shorts?

Prompted by the revival of leather skirts, we decided to dig around a bit more to see what else is out there in leather land, and here’s what we found: shorts. Not hot pants but loose-fitting shorts like this Robert Rodriguez pair, which could be a regular style, except they’re made out of leather. Puzzling. Not sure how you would rock these seeing as you can’t really wear them when it’s hot and when it’s cold you’d have to don tights underneath.

Although filming had been delayed due to the writers’ strike, hopefully the impending Screen Actors Guild strike won’t get in Barbarella’s way.
