Teen sorta sensation Aaron Carter, perhaps best known as little brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, is now 25 and touring the country on his “After Party” tour. On a stop in Boston, Carter claims he was jumped and beaten by four men, and he posted a couple Instagram photos of himself looking busted to prove it. What sparked the altercation? According to Carter, it was a classic boy band turf war. Seriously. Keep reading »

Boy Band Orgy: Boyz II Men, New Kids On The Block, And 98 Degrees Are Going On Tour Together

Yes, you read the headline right. No, this is not a drill. Yes, this is real life. No, you’re not dreaming. Three of the most amazing boy bands of yesteryear are joining forces for a summer tour. On yesterday’s episode of the “The View,” the New Kids On The Block made the bombshell announcement that they’ll be touring with fellow dreamy, aging crooners 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men. Is this a government experiment to see how much nostalgia the average 30-year-old woman can endure before spontaneously combusting? Most likely. But still, I’ll definitely be in the crowd, screaming my head off and singing along to “Because Of You,” “The Right Stuff,” and “Motownphilly.” Will you? Check out the tourdates after the jump! The New Kids On The Block Are Shirtless And Rocking Porn Star ‘Staches

Speaking of ’90s musicians, Donnie Wahlberg recently tweeted this photo of the New Kids hanging out in what looks like a locker room(?!), mustached and shirtless (with the exception of Jonathan Knight, who’s sporting a modest white T and bearing an uncomfortable resemblance to Adrien Brody). So, what do you think of the guys’ new facial hair? Are your loins still tingling for these aging dreamboats? [TooFab]

Jordan Knight Sings The Old Navy Summer Catalog

Jordan's Got The Right Stuff For Old Navy!

These days, instead of hangin’ tough with his boys from New Kids On The Block, Jordan Knight has the right stuff for Old Navy’s summer campaign. The boy band singer is featured in the brand’s latest ad, singing about items from their summer catalog. On “Shorts,” he croons, “Your legs are looking so fine,” while his falsetto hits as many high notes as there are sandal colors on “Flip-Flops.” Watch the commercial above! Meanwhile, fans are showing their love for the songs on the Old Navy Facebook page, where you can hear Jordan sing about the difference between T-shirts and tank tops. Keep reading »

Hangin’ Tough … With A New Kids On The Block Homemade Sweater

Necessity, and extreme fandom, are the mothers of invention, right? That’s exactly what prompted German mom Joanne Conklin to knit these totally out of control New Kids on the Block and Vanilla Ice sweaters for her teenage daughter. Before she knew it, she’d launched a full on NKOTB knitwear empire. “We were living in Germany at the time and bands like New Kids On The Block were huge with the teen set,” says Joanne. “However, there were no fan T-shirts to be found anywhere, so I decided to knit sweaters. I made one for my daughter, then her friends, and word-of-mouth spread and the next thing you know I’d knit over a hundred of them, selling all but about six of them.” And you can understand why. After all, these are no mere cableknit jawns [This will be the last time I allow Julie to use her obscure Philly slang in a post, FYI. -- Editor], but rather, works of Joey McIntyre-inspired magic. More sweater bliss after the jump! [Craftzine] Keep reading »

5 Style Lessons I Learned At The Backstreet Boys Concert Last Friday

Backstreet Boys photo

Last Friday, my childhood BFF Brittany and I reunited to take a road trip to the New Kids On The Block/Backstreet Boys concert in a city 150 miles north of ours. I say “road trip” but it was more of a religious pilgrimage to worship at the altar of AJ McLean’s facial hair (if you’re unversed in the BSB gospel, AJ is the bad boy of the group, and Brittany and I have been trying to get him to marry us since 1997). The concert was incredible, obviously, complete with dazzling pyrotechnics, dreamy harmonies, and Jordan Knight straining so hard to hit his high notes that I genuinely feared for his well-being. Over the course of this grand adventure, I learned a few lessons about style that will stick with me forever… Keep reading »

Jennifer Lopez’s First Gig Was Back-Up Dancing For New Kids On The Block

Last night, Jennifer Lopez sat down for an interview with Jay Leno and he asked her about her first dance gig. “I got a job working as a back-up dancer for New Kids on the Block,” she said. “It was dancing for them on the American Music Awards and it was a big deal. That was a long time ago.” Jay then informed her that the exact year was 1991 and that he had the video footage ready to roll. Above, check out Jennifer hanging tough with the guys. Keep reading »

The Backstreet Boys/NKOTB Single “Don’t Turn Out The Lights” Is Here

The Backstreet Boys/New Kids On The Block single is here! “Don’t Turn Out The Lights” is indistinguishably Top 40 and made for an eight-second clip on the next season of “Jersey Shore” as background music for Sammi and Ronnie being “on” again. Maybe two boy bands really are better than one. Pretty catchy, huh? [via NYMag] Keep reading »

Two Boy Bands Are Better Than One: New Kids On The Block Plus The Backstreet Boys

You know what’s 2 cool 2 b 4gotten? The fact that New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys are teaming up for the “NKOTBBSB” tour. Who wants to go with me? I think front row is essential. In the spirit of “why not?” check out a video preview after the jump. [NY Post] Keep reading »

Music Tour Matches We’d Like To See

We were squealing in the office this morning to find out that two of our fave boy band outfits — New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys — will possibly going on tour together — creating some kind of all-powerful mega boy-band monster. The tour could start as soon as March 2011, and they might even produce a joint single to mark the occasion. Our minds are exploding at the sheer force of so much choreographed dancing and hair gel.

We’ve assembled some additional musical pairings we think need to hit the road together. Who would you like to see team up? Keep reading »
