But if there’s one variety of photo-altering that really, truly baffles me, it’s in the case of beauty advertisements. Are we seriously supposed to look at an ad and say, “Wow, that foundation looks great, I want to try it,” when the model has not only been subjected to hours of professional hair and makeup but has also been Photoshopped to the point of no recognizable human features? Looks like Matthew McConaughey is the latest in a long line of celebs to drop a pretty shocking amount of weight for a role. In recent days McConaughey has been spotted around Austin looking downright frail after losing at least 30 pounds on a liquids-only diet to prep for a movie called “The Dallas Buyers Club.” As the actor recently explained to Larry King: “It takes a while for your body to understand that it has to feed off of itself and that you’re not going to give it something else from the outside.” Damn. Suddenly we really want a donut.

Natalie Portman and her dashing husband Benjamin Millepied had a beautiful wedding, and one that strictly honored their faith and culture.
For Saturday’s ceremony, Portman, 31, wasn’t frivolous – she didn’t have flowers flown in, but instead chose to decorate with wildflowers that naturally grow in the area of Big Sur, California where the wedding was held. According to People, Portman and Millepied also denounced traditional “fish and steak” options at their Jewish ceremony and instead only offered fare that kept with Portman’s strict vegan diet. As much as I’m thrilled for Natalie Portman, Benjamin Millepied, and their gorgeous Big Serious (Ginger) Baby Aleph, the celebration must come with a certain gravitas because one of Hollywood’s loveliest ladies is officially off the market. I hope that motherhood and married life do not translate into the diminishing of Natalie’s public presence, because she’s been one of my absolute favorite red carpet regulars since I was, like, 14 and loved “Garden State” like every other wannabe manic pixie dream girl. (I know now that I am just regular manic.) Recent paparazzi photos of Natalie in her naturally curly-haired, bootleg jeans-wearing state, coupled with this morning’s news, stoked a certain anxiety in me that I had lost my dear friend (this is getting weird) to some kind of million-legged insect.
Fear no more: two of Natalie’s latest ads for Dior came through today, and girlfriend mama still got it! (Sorry, weird again.) Not only is she the Dior Cherie perfume girl as she has been for the past two years, but she’s also the (flawless, might I add) face of the brand’s new makeup range, Diorskin Nude. Now this is one campaign that could make me shell out $50 for a foundation … but I’m easily swayed. In a word: obsessed. Natalie just kills me with pretty. Did Mila Kunis Ditch Natalie Portman’s Wedding Because Of Macaulay Culkin’s Drug Issues?
Natalie Portman married Benjamin Millepied in Big Sur over the weekend in an intimate ceremony in front of 100 guests including Ivanka Trump and Macaulay Culkin. If Culkin’s presence wasn’t odd enough, the absence of Natalie’s “Black Swan” co-star, Mila Kunis, was even weirder. Did Natalie have to make a choice between friends? Did Mila opt out of the ceremony because of Culkin’s recent drug allegations? Or simply, was Mila just not invited?
It was a small wedding so it wouldn’t be the biggest deal if Mila wasn’t invited but she and Natalie struck up a pretty strong friendship during the movie that made the women Oscar nominees. And Natalie and Benjamin met on the set of “Black Swan” which makes the co-stars’ bond even more special regarding the wedding. I have to think Mila found out Culkin was showing up and decided it was best for all if she got out of dodge. Natalie Portman and ballerina ballerino danseur hubby Benjamin Millepied stepped out to the New York City Ballet’s Spring Gala last night looking spectacularly gorgeous, thereby further reinforcing my long-enduring belief that Natalie is one of the most ethereal and beautiful creatures on this planet (and is, in fact, quite possibly not of this earth at all). Her tiered Dior gown isn’t something I would normally go for, but it looks stunning on her, and my God, that makeup! That face! Perfection. She gets me every time.
