We’re so psyched for the upcoming premiere of “Snow White and the Huntsman,” starring Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron, opening June 1. and in this series of interviews, K-Stew tells The Frisky what drew her to the role in the first place, in particular Snow White’s caretaking nature and connection to the earth. The Cannes Film Festival is where celebs are supposed to bring their A game. Not their A- game, but their A+ game. That’s because they’re not simply on the red carpet at some crappy Hollywood premiere — they’re on the world’s snotty stage! In France! France! And they’re competing against French and Italian starlets in the glamour game, too. As such, these girls have some really intense gown-age in tow — with everything from lacy cut outs, to feathers, to bright colors at their disposal. Try as we might to deny it, women have way more in common with their mothers than any of us are willing to admit. They also say that if you want to know what a lady will look like when she’s older, take a look at the one she came out of. So when I saw this picture of Kristen Stewart’s mother, Jules, I practically laughed out loud. Look no further: Kristen is the spitting image of her filmmaker mom, from the straight dark hair and light green eyes to the knowing half-smirk, except that I think Jules just might have the upper hand on her famous daughter when it comes to coolness. KStew’s insouciant attitude and offbeat, punky style make much more sense to me now that I see where she’s coming from. [Hollywood Reporter]

Are you excited for the new film adaptation of “On The Road”? I feel pretty impartial about it, but it’s probably because I’m just not that into Kerouac. I would assume that those who are probably have very strong feelings about it one way or another. I am looking forward to seeing how the movie turns out given the ambitious material. I’m also curious to see Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst in their roles — from the looks of the Cannes photocall for the film, the two have gotten pretty chummy. I usually love Kirsten’s style, but I just hated the drab Rodarte dress she wore to the Met Ball. Keep reading »

Kristen Stewart and Co. are doing the press rounds for “Snow White and the Huntsman,” so naturally there’s loads of fashion fodder to go around. The cast turned out for a photo call in Berlin today, and while Kristen’s dress was certainly less ostentatious than her risky look for the world premiere, the long Derek Lam sheath she chose was a bit of a deviation from the fashion norm. For me, the pattern errs on the side of Hot Topic, but it could just be the thick chained belt that’s eclipsing my vision. I have to say I love the fit of this dress, and while I’m not usually partial to a checkerboard pattern, I think the edgy look could have worked fabulously on punky Kristen had she shed the wide belt. I know you guys preferred Charlize’s look yesterday, but how is this red number working for you? [Just Jared]

For a long time, Kristen Stewart was sort of the postergirl for slacker style. When she’d go to premieres and events it seems like she’d barely even bother running a comb through her hair. But these days? Maybe she’s gotten a stylist, or maybe she’s simply looked through a few pictures from past events, but she’s cleaned up quite nicely!
