Oh come on, like you haven’t ever imagined your favorite celebrities secretly getting together and living happily ever after. It’s totally not weird that Amelia and I imagined an alternate reality where Kate Winslet and her “Titanic” costar Leo DiCaprio finally get together. Is it? Okay, maybe it is. But when we found out that Leo was the guy who gave Kate away during her recent wedding to a guy named Ned Rocknroll (sorry, still not over it), it seemed like an oddly fated moment… Keep reading »
Kate Winslet is officially off the market! Last night, her publicist confirmed that Kate had married her boyfriend of just over a year, Ned Rocknroll (more on that name in a second), in a quiet ceremony in New York in early December. Quiet, yes, but secret is more like it — even the couple’s parents weren’t invited. Who was? Well, Kate’s two children, from her two previous marriages (to Jim Treapleton and Sam Mendes), and Leonardo DiCaprio, her co-star in “Titanic,” who allegedly gave the bride away. (I don’t want to poop on Kate’s happiness and all, but I can’t be the only person who is sad she didn’t just marry Leo so that Jack and Rose can be together forever!!!)
So, who is Ned Rocknroll? Let’s find out. Keep reading »
Watching the Emmys this weekend, I was totally blown away by how amazing Julianna Margulies looked. “She hasn’t aged a day in 10 years!” I gasped, and then I saw Edie Falco, and thought the same thing, and then Nicole Kidman showed up, and I realized a photo slideshow was in order. Click through to check out side-by-side pics of 12 celebs who, through the magic of sunscreen or Botox or the blood of virgins, look exactly the same (or younger!) as they did a decade ago…
Love it or hate it, “Titanic” is definitely back, and this time in 3-D. The stars of the film turned out to support the premiere in London this week, and it’s incredible to see that Kate Winslet seems to hardly have aged at all. What has changed — the media landscape around her. One in which a slew of strange reality stars with rainbow-tinged hair are now permitted to show up to the premieres of hit films and traipse the red carpet. But what you want to know is … what were they wearing? Check out their shining moments and sartorial mishaps in the slideshow above!
Cate Blanchett has revealed in a new interview that she is against two things when it comes to beauty—using one’s own urine as a cleanser and getting Botox or plastic surgery.
“There’s been a decade or so of people doing intervention with their face and their body. Now that we’re emerging from that people are seeing that long term it’s not so great,” Blanchett tells Fashionista.com. “I’m not sitting on a soapbox telling women what they should and shouldn’t do, but I know what works for me. I’d just be too frightened about what it means long term. If you have all that stuff done, in the end … you just see the work. It doesn’t fill me with admiration, it fills me with pity.”
Interestingly, she is far from the only Kate to declare themselves against cosmetic procedures recently. Keep reading »
Just call him The Amazing Hot Ginge. Prince Harry is being labeled a “hero” today after he went to police following a friend’s mugging. See, Harry was on the phone, gabbin’ about girls with a pal (okay, I made that up), when the friend on the line was suddenly mugged. His Royal Ginger reportedly raced across the city to help his friend in need and when he couldn’t find him, Harry walked his princely butt over to the local police station, where he gave a witness statement. As a result of that and, you know, police work, a suspect was aprehended. [CBS News]
I love this story because it allows me a reason to picture Prince Harry in a cape. But also, I love stories of celebs swooping in like the superior beings that they are and saving the day! Here are 16 other stories of celebs behaving heroically!
“I would really find it hard being as famous as I was so immediately when ‘Titanic’ came out. If that was happening today, I really don’t know how I would cope because there’s so much media exposure and so much scrutiny. I mean, there was [media exposure] back then, but now it’s just a little out of control. So I do feel there’s this responsibility in myself to speak steadfast and true, at least be something that a younger generation can look up to and go, ‘Oh she’s alright,’ and, ‘She hasn’t injected her face with anything,’ and ‘She’s got a normal figure.’ It’s important.”
Who says things like “speak steadfast and true” in ordinary conversation? Kate Winslet, I love you. Don’t go changing, ever. [Stylelist] Keep reading »
