“Magic Mike,” aka the movie where Channing Tatum will play a stripper (a job he has actually held in real life), is shaping up to have the hottest supporting cast ever. And we can only imagine that most of them will be taking off their clothes. Thursday, it was announced that Matthew McConaughey had signed on to play Dallas, a former dancer who runs the Xquisite Club where Magic Mike works. It also was revealed that Matt Bomer of “White Collar” had committed to playing a stripper in Magic Mike’s coterie. And yesterday we learned that Joe Manganiello is in final talks to play the role of Big Dick Richie in the movie. Which, great name?
After the jump, who of these three we would shun, shag, and marry. Keep reading »
My relationship with Joe Manganiello goes way back. It started when he appeared in a bit part on “How I Met Your Mother.” Wow, that guy is hot, I thought. A few years later, the same gorgeous face appeared as a heartbroken werewolf on “True Blood” with a prediliction for taking his shirt off. I swooned. Joe has yet to make an appearance in the two episodes of “TB” season four that have aired so far, which is highly disappointing. So today, when I caught a glimpse Joe’s cover of Muscle & Fitness magazine, it was the first time we’d come face to face in months. And I freaked. That perfect, perfect specimen has gotten—gulp—way too muscle-bound for my taste. Put down the weights, Joe, put down the weights. Keep reading »
This just might be my favorite Entertainment Weekly cover ever. Since Sunday night brings the “True Blood” season four premiere, EW has issued three covers featuring Anna Paquin posing “American Gothic”-style alongside Alexander Skarsgard, Joe Maganeillo, and her real-life husband Stephen Moyer. My fave is this Alexander one, because both of them have such perfect expressions. My least favorite has to be the Joe version, which you can check out after the jump. In real life, Alcide is the character I lust after the most—just not in those overalls. But nevermind what I think, pick your favorite after the jump. Keep reading »
Because Alcide is so hot that he makes my teeth sweat, I was very excited when I saw that Joe Manganiello of “True Blood” was going to be modeling “7 ways to dress for beach-faring weather” in GQ magazine. However, when I went to look at the images, my dude was surrounded by not one but two hot women, one of them naked and wearing a camera around her neck. Sigh. Fantasy over! Keep reading »
Joe Manganiello of “True Blood” is, apparently, a stalker magnet. Even before permanently losing his shirt for the role of Alcide, Joe had a few rabid followers. “I’ve had two crazy stalkers that, ah, one would call and leave these really weird poems on my phone. Another one would send these creepy pictures to my house,” he said. “I was at the police station filing this report and the police officer’s trying to figure out who these guys are and I kind of looked at him and shrugged my shoulders and said, ‘It’s never a hot chick.’ And he just kind of stared at me.”
But since “True Blood”‘s new season started, things have gotten much worse. Keep reading »
“I feel like I’ve been pretending I was a werewolf since I was a little kid. But it takes work. It’s about dialect work… I’m not going to lie–it’s about going to the gym. It’s a lot about letting it all go, remembering when you were a crazy primal kid running around and screaming. I wouldn’t tell anyone to study werewolves–I studied wolves, how they moved, their tendencies and sensibilities.”

John DeVore and I agree — this season of “True Blood”
is so much better
than the last. One reason is the addition of some amazing new characters: Franklin, the creepy but oddly funny vampire with a crush on Tara; Sam Merlotte’s shape-shifting birth family; and, of course, drop-dead gorgeous werewolf Alcide. Alcide is played by the lip-smackingly brawny Joe Manganiello
, and we’ve got good news for both fans of the character and the actor. His role has been expanded so that he’s now a series regular. Rejoice!
Manganiello also is featured in an upcoming issue of Muscle & Fitness magazine, which I am sure you have a subscription to, but if not, “Entertainment Tonight” got some behind-the-scenes footage from his photoshoot. He talks about his diet and working out but really, who cares? You could watch this on mute and salivate. [Deadline via JustJared] Keep reading »
