Anne Hathaway Knows That Good Fashion Comes To Those Who Wait

Do you resist dressing a certain way because of being younger? In Vogue‘s profile of Anne Hathaway, the actress admits: “I’ve never seen a Kelly bag or a Birkin bag in person … and at my age, it’s about time.” Anne is of course talking about two of the most famous handbag styles from Hermès. (You might remember the Kelly from “Le Divorce” and the Birkin as the bag that “SATC”‘s Samantha used Lucy Liu’s name to get.) These types of handbags are iconic and, naturally, extremely expensive. As Anne tries on both styles in the Hermès store, she says, “I think the Birkin would suit me more. As gorgeous as the Kelly is, I think it’s something that you mature into.”

Have you ever thought of clothes or accessories like this? Imagined certain power pieces that you would buy at certain ages? Or envisioned how you’d dress in your 50s or 60s? [Vogue via People StyleWatch] Keep reading »

Anne Hathaway Channels Audrey Hepburn For Vogue

Actress Anne Hathaway, 27, gets all glammed up inside the November issue of Vogue with a “Holly Golightly meets Marge Simpson” hairdo, diamonds galore, and evening gowns to the floor. When asked about her dealbreakers when it comes to men, in an obvious reference to her ex, con artist Raffaello Follieri, Hathaway replies, “Uh … fraud?” Apparently, her new movie, “Love and Other Drugs,” in which she costars with Jake Gyllenhaal, boasts “a lot of steamy sex scenes.” Ultimately, she says, the movie helped her get over trust issues she had from her experience with Follieri. “I think that making a film about trust that required a great deal of trust—well, it was a challenge to get there,” she told the magazine. Don’t Cry, Anne Hathaway, It’s Just A Wig!

Anne Hathaway looks a little morose on the set of “One Day” in Paris. Luckily, that’s not a bad haircut — it’s just a wig. So cheer up! [New York City] Keep reading »

Salon Owner Accused Of Swindling Jennifer Aniston, Anne Hathaway, Cher

Maria Gabrielle Perez styles the hair of Jennifer Aniston, Anne Hathaway, Cher, Liv Tyler, and Melanie Griffith at the beauty salon Chez Gabriela Studio. Naturally, her services are expensive. But this is just ridiculous. After paying with credit cards at the salon, these stars’ information was skimmed and, afterwards, mysterious charges began showing up on their statements. On Liv Tyler’s card alone, there was supposedly $214,000 worth of fraudulent charges from the salon! The Secret Service arrested Perez yesterday and she faces two counts of fraud. Guess these ladies will have to find a new salon. [Radar] Keep reading »

Jake Gyllenhaal And Anne Hathaway Reunite In “Love And Other Drugs”

Let’s talk about how excited I am to see “Love and Other Drugs” starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway. The two, of course, played a married couple in “Brokeback Mountain,” but this is decidedly lighter, funnier fare, with Gyllenhaal playing a charming ladies’ man and Hathaway portraying a free-spirited type. I’m especially interested to see how Jake does as a somewhat cocky Alpha male, being that he usually plays emo. The film comes out November 24. [via Just Jared] Keep reading »

Anne Hathaway Says No Thanks To Ex’s Gifts

Poor Anne Hathaway thought that once her crazy scam-artist ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri was out of her life, it would be the end of the drama. But just when she thought the negativity surrounding their former relationship had passed, it seems there’s one more aspect of their life together that she has to deal with. After Raffaello’s transgressions became public, Anne surrendered a few gifts he’d given her, including two Rolex watches, a pair of silver-colored earrings with “blue and clear stones,” a silver-colored chain with a cross pendant, two gold-colored rings, a five-strand pearl necklace and a Louis Vuitton box. Apparently, she had a bit of a grace period when she could have asked for the gifts back, but she must have said no thank you because the items are being going up for auction, with the sales helping to repay Follieri’s victims. I mean, would you really want to keep the gifts of any ex, let alone those of a scam artist? And you thought your break-ups were full of lingering drama. [NY Post] Keep reading »

Anne Hathaway’s Strong Brow And Eye: Does It Work?

Last night, the celebs turned out in droves for the world premiere of the Tim/Burton/Johnny Depp movie “Alice in Wonderland” in London. Check out the always red-carpet-chic Anne Hathaway. Quick, what’s the first thing you notice? If you’re me, it’s her seriously strong brows (that’s a lot of brow pencil/shadow at work) and equally major eye makeup. Personally, I’m not a fan. While I love that almost all of the fall shows have featured a strong eyebrow look, the Fashion Week makeup artists also took care to only overdo the brow. They didn’t play up anything else on the face, and that’s the key. (The key Anne missed in her makeup.) What say you? It’s a powerful look, for sure, but a little too overpowering … Keep reading »

Anne Hathaway Left The Catholic Church For Her Gay Brother

Anne Hathaway isn’t just a talented actress; she also sticks up for her fam “Sopranos”-style. The actress opened up to British GQ about how she and her family left the Catholic Church because the religion did not embrace her older brother, Michael, who is gay. “The whole family converted to Episcopalianism after my elder brother came out,” Hathaway told the mag. “Why should I support an organization that has a limited view of my beloved brother?”

Now that’s loyalty! Considering most actresses in Hollywood get their asses kissed if they, like, pose for photos at a charity event, it’s heartwarming to see someone actually take a stand for something important, you know? [NYMag.com] Keep reading »
